Blade96
everyone who said don't take the net from her because" is missing the point. The real reason you shouldn't ban her complete from the net is because it won't teach her how to be safe online. She needs to be taught how to keep safe. when I first got internet, even though my parents had no net experience either, I was taught how to talk to people safely. Even now I talk to many many people from all over the world. And I have never gotten in trouble with anyone online. My suggestion is to teach her. If you don't know how, you can look at google and get lots of tips and tricks. Let her use the Net, but you have to be there to teach her. autumnnight
Enjoy a daughter who's bitter and resentful. I'm sure she'd love to know you don't trust her. That'll feel real good. Personally, I don't learn sh*t from "punishment" or "guidance" or "protection" or whatever you want to call it. It just p*sses me off. I learn from making my own. d*mn. mistakes. Yeah that means I have to accept the consequences for what I f*ck up along the way, but so be it. Respectfully, at 26 I felt a bit like you. But what seemed like punishment when I was still bitter over my teens I understood as protection once i had my own kids. You should probably skip ranting and cursing at parents you don't know until you become one.
Hope Shimmers
Sorry - but a 13 year-old is not a "child." Not anymore. That horse has left the barn. Excuse me, but what planet do you live on where a 13-year-old is not considered a child?
ASG
Excuse me, but what planet do you live on where a 13-year-old is not considered a child? A 13 year old is NOT a child. A 13 year old is a teenager. Not an adult, but also not a child.
Hope Shimmers
A 13 year old is NOT a child. A 13 year old is a teenager. Not an adult, but also not a child. The legal definition of a child is 14 years or under. The dictionary definition varies but includes "below the legal age of majority". The point is that she's a minor.
