Sruble Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I've worked at my company for about three years and my boss has been my supervisor for just about the whole time. We joke around constantly and seem like we pretty much like a lot of the same things. We are both in our thirties, I'm single with no children and she is married but going through a divorce with two children. Over the last couple months I can't help but think about her the majority of the time while I'm at work and in my private life. I find that I don't care about any other woman and nobody turns me on. What do I do? I love my job but I can't just sit back and do nothing. Is it possible that we just get along great but it'll never go anywhere or is all the joking and fun times a sign that she maybe interested?
Gloria25 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I don't know... I take "workplace romances" with a grain of salt... I mean, 8 hrs a day/40 days a week and at some point you're gonna connect with others... I say try to rub out a few and seriously try to evaluate the situation objectively...I mean, she's your boss, you don't wanna poop where you eat, and she's a divorcee with kids...Lots of baggage and drama if you ask me.
RoseVille Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Oh gawd don't dip your pen in the company ink! If it goes to sh*t, you'll be screwed! 1

Otherwise stay away from her and control your feelings while at work. She is your boss and chances are very high that she will not 'date' an employee, someone who works for her. She'd be putting her own professional reputation at risk and also there could be an office policy about bosses/employees dating.
La.Primavera Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 The chances of rejection are extremely high. Have you considered the negative consequences?
madjac74 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 she is married but going through a divorce with two children. Other than the major factor that she is your boss...the above is a big potential disaster for you. With her impending divorce, she is looking to mix it up and feel like a woman again. You are just a sad pawn for her to manipulate and use and boost her confidence. If you don't care about your job, then continue to play along.
d0nnivain Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 It's probable that this won't go anywhere. Your boss doesn't want to date you. Her dating a subordinate is career suicide for her.
