She rocked my world and was a "trophy wife type" It took me almost 6 months. 2 Months NC (did NC for me but she came back to me) and got back with her for a month and ended it again. But she would haunt my dreams for another couple years even while with I was with another person. Methodical Posted May 31, 2015 Share Posted May 31, 2015 Honestly, I can't remember how long it took to move on. I caught him cheating and was crushed. Oddly, I saw him a couple years ago and my heart rate kicked up a notch as several memorable moments came flooding back. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with him being my first. My last relationship was by far more serious than the ones before it, but I got over it the quickest. The first guy that I felt love for I was close friends with in sophomore year. It was that classic unrequited love situation where he was in a relationship and I was too but I only wanted him. I'm going to say it took about a year to get over. Although I was younger and didn't even date him, it still hit me pretty hard.
