Ladies, why do you date musicians?

Recommended Posts

Creativity and thoughtfulness is a draw for me, big time. I don't really care about being 'sexy' playing a guitar live or sth, just the ability to do the stuff they do gets to me. Songwriter is more attractive to me than musician.

Talent, creativity, and sometimes sensitivity. I know a lot of musicians, singers and instrumentalists, and very few of them are mean or obnoxious. The few that are tend to be 'managed' by the others. Generally, it's a community, a brotherhood and sisterhood. I am also interested in musicians, being one myself. We understand each other. We talk guitars! I guess it's like any special interest group, you get to know who is admired for their talent and personality and who is avoided or even feared. Dating a musician just because they are on stage and talented though, is a bit risky. Get to know the person first!

I mean most of them are ugly. What's the attraction? Just because a guy can sing?

Hey, who are you calling ugly?!

I'm not a professional musician, but I have written songs and played the guitar for most of my life. Men who have musical abilties are naturally more in touch with their emotions and feelings. I think a lot of women find that attractive. Especially if he is able to hold onto his masculinity in the process.

My last BF was a singer in a blues band, he played guitar and harmonica as well and he was super sexy and very good looking. I broke up with him due to his lack of willingness to commit and his roaming eyes/hands.

I'm now wary of musicians, because they are surrounded by groupies and temptation.

most good musicians have that ability to see beauty in what others overlook, there's a sensitivity, there's mystery......there's a deep soul there.....theres a lot of the time a damaged soul who can play out their pain behind the person strumming that guitar.....stroking the piano keys or breathing into a saxophone until veins pop out....

if it isnt pain they play they also play for pure love of making music...sometimes its both.....that to em makes a good artist exceptional..and music is gods gift to everyone......so i admire respect and support artists..i cant read music at all.....i am more a tonal girl.......but i can write lyrics....and i would like to make music someday with someone special.....i talked lyrics one time with michael hutchence.....he was a special person.....a tortured artist......and a good person with problems.....he was out of it when i talked to him....and he sounded sane...thats the funny thing,.,.

i have dated musicians.. have dated them because we talk about music......and our passion for music....passion for music is huge with me.........so is heart......most musicians have heart.........deb..

We also play instruments, which means we're well versed with our fingers.

Do the math here.

I'm a musician, with a music degree, and spend most of my life engaged with music. Wouldn't gel with someone not as passionate about music.

Also talent is sexy.

I agree with Mrs Rubble,

Successful artists, not limited to musicians, can be very adept at creating emotional resonances through their work and passion. This quality is very attractive to many people, not just women.

I don't date musicians but a friend of mine does. She meets plenty of them though considering that her father owns a company that does all the technology-stuff for the stage.

On what planet is that true????????

All my life all I ever see are examples of women dissing guys for showing emotion and feelings(during the early phases of dating).

-You're not allowed to tell a woman that you "like" her

-You're not allowed to talk about what bothers you

-You're not allowed to show any emotion other than being cool and in charge

You basically have to play Mr Cool and almost pretend that you "dont like" her in order to keep dating a woman. I think its a very very small percentage of women if the reason they like musicians is because they like his being in touch with his emotions and feelings

I have to say, I have not met very many ugly musicians. Well, Tom Petty is pretty unfortunate, but other than that....

I dated a few musicians in my time and they weren't ugly by the way. Most of the time what drew me in was the passion they showed. If they were really passionate and into what they were doing that was a huge turn on for me. The way they could let all their emotions out and expose them.
