solong123
I have this overwhelming urge to text my ex and tell him I miss him. Things just havent been going well so I know this is why I feel low enough to do it. I wont though because I need to be strong. Posting here just really helps sometimes. I dont want to ruin the progress I have made over one crappy day.
RedButton
All you need to do it hold out one day. I don't know what time it is where you are in the world, but just take a look at the time and figure how many hours you need to wait to get through. Try to fill those hours with something fun or constructive. If you're at work that's a start, when you get home try to get in touch with friends, do something you enjoy (even if it's as simple as a favourite TV show), go to the gym, go for a walk, anything like that. Turn off your phone and put it away for a while so the temptation isn't there. By tomorrow you'll feel different and stronger
dyna85
I agree with RedButton's suggestions. Don't give in, especially in moments of weakness, as that is when you're most vulnerable to the pain of a negative outcome. You know you reaching out to him won't help alleviate the pain and puts you in a bad position. You can do this. You've been strong for so long... that should be your mantra given your username. You've been strong for so long, so hold on, and don't give in, and eventually you will win. If he broke up with you, you deserve to be missed. Let him miss you.
Mr Scorpio
Hopefully you didn't text him today, and by now the urge has subsided. You can take heart in the fact that you made it through the day without texting him, and that even if you do get the urge tomorrow, that it will be easier to resist.
Author solong123
The feeling did eventually pass and I was able to focus on other things. Thanks for the support anyone. It has already been 7 months and while I feel I have progressed greatly it just hits me from time to time but I have to remain strong.
