utilisateur
Hi everybody, Let's say you hit it off with somebody at a small cozy dinner party. i.e. a party where everyone can hear each other so there's really no privacy in conversations. How do you ask them out? Do you take them aside, like "hey Natalie, can I talk to you for a second?" and then ask them? or do you ask them, "hey Natalie, want to go out with me for coffee this Friday?" in front of everybody? Or do you ask them, "hey Natalie, what's your name on Facebook?" and then ask them out later on Facebook? Or something else?
RedButton
Hmm, I would probably say something like "It was really nice meeting you, let's keep in touch. Can I get your phone number, maybe give you a call sometime?" Then you can call/text and ask her out then away from prying ears and eyes.

Ask them out in front of everybody, but when it's just the two of you in conversation together. Don't shout, but don't whisper either. Be calm. Shows you have balls.
GemmaUK
Before you get to that point flirt with them at the table. No extreme flirting just banter and teasing. See if it is reciprocated. If it is and it carries through the evening then you may well find that the rest of the guests have planned your date for you by the end of the evening. From when we were all five years old we know the 'he runs up and pulls her pigtails, she gets revenge and runs up to kick him in the shins' neither hurt each other and neither intend to - they are five and in love! Kidhood fun and kidhood flirting! It still works whether you are five or ninety-five!
