Oooh that's a nice addition. I have that CD but I haven't listened to it much. I'll put it on when I get home...along with Fiona Apple, SinceIvebeenlovingU! Promise!!! :)

And to think I took the ex to see Incubus...and Pearl Jam...and Eric Clapton...and Aerosmith...grrrrr.

Somebody doesn't have me to buy kick@$$ concert tickets for him anymore!!!!:laugh:

I don't actually have their album, I've only heard 'Goodnight, Goodnight' and 'Bandages' so I don't know anything about them. I'll take you on your word that they're sell outs (I hate it when bands become that). But they seem alright to me.... :p

Here are a few of my favorites (there are so many). They are mostly 80s. They are all good, and I think most can be uplifting in the right circumstances, if only in making you realize things you need to realize.

"With Or Without You" - U2 (you might guess I like that one - listen to the words. I've been there - exactly.) :p

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - U2 (very uplifting, if you are at a point when you can believe the lyrics)

"Where the Streets Have No Name - U2 (so many reminders, we've all wanted to go there...)

"Losing My Religion" - REM

"Time For Me To Fly" - REO Speedwagon (another great one for the OM and OW out there to listen to, when they just won't leave a bad situation to be with you, but keep playing with you anyway).

"Harden My Heart" - Quarterflash (easier said than done)

"She's Always a Woman" - Billy Joel (ok, it's sad, but it reminds me of someone I once knew, and it's a really great song...)

"Tainted Love" - Soft Cell

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" - Pat Benetar

"The Gambler" - Kenny Rogers (ok, so it's not a love song, but sometimes, you gotta know when to fold 'um, when to walk away, and when to run)

"This Love" - Maroon 5 (Too many times before indeed...)

"Maneater" - Hall and Oats

"Time, Love and Tenderness" - Michael Bolton

I forgot a totally great song I think you might like, love...

"I Don't Care Anymore" by Phil Collins! Oh, man. I must have neglected it because I don't have the CD or MP3.

Anyhow, I think it's very therapeutic to sing along at the end as he starts to growl " I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!! NO MORE NO MORE!!!" Even if you still DO care, it's fun to get caught up in pretending not to.

David Gray's version of "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" (found on White Ladder) is one of the most beautiful covers I've EVER heard.

In fact the whole CD is therapeutic. It helped me get over a breakup a few years ago.
