Mark715
This spring we bought a house out in the country nex to a farm! We met the farmer and he was a nice guy in his middle to late sixties. My wife is 34, she is a teacher and gets the summers off. She loves being in the country and loves living next to the farm. One thing I noticed is every time he is around she gets all giddy like a teenager. Anyone's wife get like that around a older man?
DaisyBug
Might not have to do with age, but being a rugged farmer. Sounds very manly.
Author Mark715
He looks like he is in good shap! And he is definitely tall
DaisyBug
Yep, that sounds very alluring. Even I want to lick my chops a bit right now. I'm not into the rugged type, but farmer....ooooh yeah.

Noproblem
why don't you voice your concerns in a nice way .. I mean don't tell her if she like that guy, but just see what's wrong in your relationship right now, maybe you are missing something.. Bring the spark back to your relationship.. Takes her on new dates takes her on a trip.. do something fun with her, something she really enjoys, and share the joy with her,,.. instead of worrying about this man.. do something to add spice to your relationship... see what is on her bucket list, and do it with her.. or maybe something missing in your sex life,. learn new things .. I don't know! Just don't let any guy takes her from you.. She is still young!
Author Mark715
There nothing wrong with our sex life, and nothing has really changed. We have always gone on dates, no vacation this year because of buying the house and all the things that go with it

We have always gone on dates, no vacation this year because of buying the house and all the things that go with it The fact she is giddy could mean she sees him as a father figure and is playing daddy's little girl again, or she may be attracted to him. Farmers tend to be pretty "in shape" for their age, all that fresh air, walking and hard work is as good as any gym. Although some farmers are poor as church mice, some are loaded with money too. It is not outwith the realms of possibility she has a thing for him. I agree with Noproblem. If you challenge, punish or abuse her over this, you will send her straight into his arms. Up your game, make her appreciate you more, and make her forget him.
Author Mark715
I definitely not going to make a big scene, I have made some comments or hints during small talk
Author Mark715
He is in good shape I will give him that! Maybe he has been in the sun to long because he definitely shows his age too.
DaisyBug
At his age you think she has a thing for him Oh, nothing like she feels for you, I'm sure. His type is probably just "different" than what she's ever seen before in person (being new to the country life) and maybe she's just amused that someone so much older can still be so attractive, even with the weathered appearance. In fact, YouTube the movie "Crocodile Dundee" and take note of the main male character. Older, hair thinning, and very weathered. And sexy! Sounds like this farmer guy may have the same type of aura.
Author Mark715
Wow I never thought about it like that! I bet your right and she is just overwhelmed by the new surroundings
Friskyone4u
Mark, I do not think you should try to play therapist here. Why she is attracted and behaving differently around this older man is something only she knows. You are making a big mistake to ignore this and assume it is totally a 'farmer' thing. Your wife may have issues you have no clue about and acting "giddy" is not normal for a married woman to be doing around another man. there is an old saying to "trust you gut", and your gut is telling you something is not right here and i suggest you get it figured out NOW and not when you get an unpleasant surprise. Author Mark715
I didn't say I was writing it off as a farmer thing! How about giving my wife so credit too. Your acting like something horrific is going to happen. My wife is a smart person and I'm sure she is not going to let something bad happen to us
autumnnight
You have to understand, Mark, to some hammers, everything is a nail. I doubt seriously that your wife is plotting an affair with Farmer Bob. The whole country life, live off the land, I know how to milk cows thing is probably just cool for her. And yeah, if he's a nice old man with crinkly eyes whose friendly, he might remind her of her dad or something. If it really bothers you, make it your business to really get to know him. LoveIsMyReligion
It's in your nature to notice these things but I wouldn't say or do anything about it unless it escalates... Otherwise you might come off insecure.

MidwestUSA
Perhaps farmer smells like manure, and giggling is a way to increase air flow in and out thru the nose? I'm looking to build on a farm, my brother's, and I admire him for his lifestyle. I don't have a thing for him, I'm just impressed by his level of self sufficiency. Plus, being on the farm just makes me happy!
Author Mark715
Yeah he seems content being on the farm. He told me his family has had the farm for a hundred and fifty years! He doesn't have many animals anymore just some beef cows. It used to be a big dairy farm he told me.
