serial muse
Beware of the fish keeper... What stood out to me is that there was a programming series called "Psychopath Night". OP, I don't think you answered my earlier post. A woman who is your age fielded the exact same question you complained about in your OP - but rather than becoming defensive or assuming negative things about the man or men in general, she simply answered it honestly. Now they're dating. You dismissed that because it doesn't fit in with your narrative; you said it wasn't comparable even though it was basically an exact mirror image. This is why people are saying you sound negative. It's not realism if you're only interested in the stories that feed your inner narrative.

Confirmation bias, also called myside bias, is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's beliefs or hypotheses.

Got it
I don't think "trying to attract women" is a great reason to get a pet. Pet's need care and attention and what regular attention is the poor thing going to get if he is in the gym or going out on dates and staying over with the women he meets. Pets can be very tying. They need stable homes and not be bought on a whim to attract some single mother, who may indeed want it put down if it goes anywhere near her kids. I was somewhat tongue in cheek. Since these topics tend to be rinse and repeat about big bad awful women, many a little "unconditional love" and caring for something else will help the OP with the big picture of life.
DaisyBug
OP, maybe you need a dog. Or a cat. Or something to take up your time. I think that women look positively upon men who can take care of babies, dogs or cats because it shows that you are able to demonstrate love and care towards another being. It means you're mature enough to be responsible for someone else. I disagree. NEVER get a pet (or have a baby!) just to please someone else. Pets have feelings and need love & attention, and are not meant to be kept outside in the yard all day and ignored, or just stepped over in the house. They are a responsibility. The OP is smart enough to know that's not for him.
ConfusedTrixie
It is a fair question especially coming from single moms. What possible future could you have if the answer is, "I hate kids!". Plenty of women hate kids, and do not want to have kids. I suppose they deserve to be judged harshly, and force to celibacy and live alone as well? The double standard is astronomical. You are all so mean to this poor guy, but rationalize your bullying as okay because he is a man, and is expected to not have feelings.
