My brother in law is 34 years old and is addicted to porn. He recently confessed to my sister about this, who absolutely had no idea before. She thinks of this as his attempt to change, and she is ready to forgive him. They have [spoken to a center for porn addiction]. My sister is just worried that he would just get back to his old habits when he is back. So how will you help someone with porn addiction after their recovery? Since we have access to internet at all times, i feel its hard for someone to stay away from it. So please suggest ways to help him.

She can turn the hot sex up to 11 so he has no desire for porn. Other than that, its really his issue to overcome.

The pornography addiction theory has been a debate for sometime. Can there really be this type of addiction? Addiction to anything is for a reason. If it's porn, maybe he feels more comfortable without true intimacy with a person.

If he did, he may find that being with a live human being is way more rewarding.

It isn't porn or the concept of sex it's the feeling of acceptance without judgement. He will need to handle the underlying issue or I'm afraid your sister will go through agony trying to curb his usage. She'll be watching and waiting for him to slip up.

I feel for her. I really do, it's a long road.
