zcolman Posted August 5, 2015 Share Posted August 5, 2015 Wow its already been 3 years since I poured my heart out on this forum. I was always looking for some answers... any answers. But now that I look back on it all, the pain was worth it. Not just for me but my other half. We were separated a whole 10 months before we saw each other again. During that break-up I had faith, but it was weird. It wasn't until I gave up on that faith and realized I had to move on and who cares about NC and her life that we actually reconnected. I look back at that 10 months and see that those long days made me the stronger more confident man that I am today. Its about me over all and not them, that's what makes a relationship successful, caring about yourself before caring about them. We have now been back together for 2 years now, so about 5.5 overall including the 10 month break in the middle. We are engaged and in the process of buying a house. OneForTheRoad Posted August 6, 2015 Share Posted August 6, 2015 I've been hearing/reading about this so many times, that it's starting to sink in. You get back the best once both are over it. Any more details? Did either of you date others in between? Did you contact them first or how'd it happen? I'm still in the process of getting over, but I can feel progress. I'm taking this as a chance to finally have some time for myself. (31, never lived alone, max break between relationships was 1 month) Link to post Share on other sites
