LookAtThisPOst
Emailed this woman that lived pretty close to me for a change, single, Christian, 45, and no children. Believe it or not, we were 99% matched, and the questions we answered were pretty much equal in number...in the 200's. I was checking out here questions, and there was one about how if she believed that a horoscope sign of the other person is believed to tell the two are nicely matched. She chose, "Yes." In my intro email, I told her about myself, but concluded the email with, "I noticed, as a Christian, you believe in horoscopes. And she replied that she didn't, she thinks they are hocus-pocus, but went onto this long explanation on how she does believe how personalities of certain horoscopes get along with others and how the Magi who went to see Jesus was also an expert in the stars. Then somehow tied THAT into God. Then she said that there was no immediate attraction she had to me, that she had a specific type, and said I seemed like a great guy and I'd have NO problem finding a woman on online dating or otherwise (LOL..online dating? Yeah right!) So anyhow, thoughts on this woman tying God into astrology like this woman did? She kind of contradicted herself.
SoleMate
Once you accept one form of supernatural belief, it's not that much of a stretch to combine it with other forms. And actually the Magi were astronomer/astrologers (back then there was not a clear distinction). Makes sense to me. As long as faith is the yardstick, she clearly has faith in her worldview and her beliefs.
newmoon
the two can coexist. i'm not even sure why so many people who say they are christian don't realize that the church and astrology and early astronomers were fully linked. a tour through many catholic/christian churches in europe is testimony to the astrology/christian link; many astrology clocks exist within churches and the symbols are used widely in churches, whether in stained glass, clocks, or other decorative objects. i don't know why the link between the two disappeared, but there is no reason why someone cannot be a person of faith and believe in astrology. Well, it seems some women I meet tend to figure astrology signs into the dating equation as if it actually mattered when it comes to compatibility.
autumnnight
Ummmm....sorry OP, I'm with you. To me, belief in God and Christ is very very different from the moon being in the 7th house and Jupiter aligning with Mars..... Sometimes I read a horoscope for a laugh (they are all so general it's funny). But yeah, trying to use the Magi as some proof that Jesus likes astrology? A bit of a stretch. But what do I know, I'm a Gemini....or something lol
Keenly
I hope when referring to your match percentage that you are not talking about OkCupid. That number is completely made up, the site runners even admitted such.
FleshNBones
So anyhow, thoughts on this woman tying God into astrology like this woman did? She kind of contradicted herself.I think astrology contributed about 0.00001% to her decision making. It is somewhere on par with the butterfly effect. My guess is, only a handful of men are worthy of her, and you don't make the cut.
