Cold Feet???

i am really confused. I have been seeing a really great guy. We fell in love, met his parents he met mine. In the beginning of our relationship i lost my business, got sick, his job was killing him = a lot of pressure. Any ways 3 weeks ago he lost it, I don't know the pressure got to him. We took a 2 break for us (mostly him) needed to figure out where his head is agreeing if before 2 weeks we want to meet we will. He asked me out on a date a week into our break. From there we talked and agreed to take things one step at a time. It came out that in his previous relationships the women hurt him and he was really afraid of of our relationship. We set up a date for this Friday. One Tuesday he called to set up the date day Thursday/or Friday, we chose Friday and from there haven't spoken sense. That Tuesday he had a meeting (he called the day) Wenesday supper with his mother, all things her told me tonight is for himself then tomorrow we go out. I guess I keep comparing to before the break we spoke daily, now I am guessing its baby steps. However if he doesn't call this evening would me calling him be a mistake? Any suggestions??? Or am I just worring too much???
