jr4298
A few days ago I saw this cute girl at the store while shopping. We were just walking past each other and I think we both did a double take, locked eyes and smiled and moved on. Nothing big. But a few minutes later I turned and saw her again, she was walking in my direction, she looked up and saw me and just froze. I kept walking. Why would she freeze though? I didn't stare at her or even try to talk to her. I just noticed she was pretty and moved on. I get that this is a weird question its just been bugging me.
nescafe1982
Maybe she was waiting for your approach? That's my sense... if you checked each other out twice and you walked right by her. Next time, pause, and say hello!
Lois_Griffin
She probably froze because she didn't want you to think she was stalking you in the store after you'd made eye contact a couple times.
central
She was either overwhelmed with lust ... or you looked like a former stalker or something.
Chi townD
Dude, you can speculate until the cows come home, you're never going to get the answers and this is a girl you'll probably never see again. She could have thought you were someone she knew, and then realized that you weren't who she thought you were. She could have froze because she was embarrassed. I mean, you're never going to know. carhill
OP, her answer is known only to her. Considering that you ran into each other twice, the second time could easily have been surprise that such could happen again after such a brief period. Scary version? She thought you were stalking her and the freeze was a moment of indecision due to fight or flight mechanism in the brain. Of course, that's one scenario of billions. Next time, if you think a girl is pretty and she returns your notice like she did with a smile, go with that and strike up conversation. If she's not interested, move on. If she is, continue. That's what men do.

Mrin
As with most human behaviors in life, this is easily explained with one word - gas. She had gas.
mystikmind2005
I will tell you exactly what can get that kind of reaction - you look like someone she knew, someone very significant in her life. Even i have reacted like that when i saw such people.
regine_phalange
I'd freeze like that if I felt a lot of attraction and my brain stopped. But that's me.
bluefeather
all of these answers are hilarious, especially gas omg!!!
