kylle
Does anyone else feel they can't get rest, even though they can get sleep? Actually I've been like this all my life, but my body always got used to this situation. I was always sleepy, but I managed to do my activities well and pretty much never complained because I got used to it. This year, however, I feel like this is ruining my daily routine. I fall asleep quickly, but I keep waking up the entire night, I can't rest and I end up spending my entire day feeling like crap because of this. I tried a bunch of stuff, from chamomile tea to melatonin. I didn't help. I went to see my doctor about 3 weeks ago and he prescribed an anxiolytic. It got the worst results so far. I managed to sleep all night, but it made me sleepy neverthless, and also made me feel like my brain was working more slowly than before...it sounds stupid to say this, but I felt like the medicine was making me dumber... Does anyone have an advice for getting a good-quality sleep? This is making me mad...
Els
Do you know what is causing you to wake up multiple times at night? Is your room quiet, dark, and interruption-free? Nice slightly cool temperature, comfy bed, etc?

Author kylle
Do you know what is causing you to wake up multiple times at night? Is your room quiet, dark, and interruption-free? Nice slightly cool temperature, comfy bed, etc? I can't point a finger... On my room I've got nothing to complain, really...my bed and mattress are 3 month old, love them. My city is hot as hell sometimes, but AC and fans do the trick...
Author kylle
have you been tested for sleep apnea ? I did, but that was about 5 years ago. At the time I was having troubles falling asleep and went to check it. The results were negative...I wonder if I could have developed sleep apnea in the meantime Until very recently I didn't care that I slept badly, I was used to it. But now I feel much more impact on my life, I wake up feeling like crap and stay this way until I go to sleep and the cycle repeats..
froz
Are you stressed for any reason in particular? What do you do for work? How many hours of work do you do? Could be many contributing factors.
truthtripper
I can also fall asleep easily and used to have trouble staying asleep until I discovered the amino acid, glycine. I take 2 grams glycine with 60 milligrams pyridoxal 5'-phosphate(superior form of vitamin B6) and 100 milligrams magnesium glycinate/lysinate chelate before bedtime. I get about 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Before discovering this combo I used to get about only 4 hours sleep per day for 10 years. Deficiency in certain vitamins or minerals can cause insomnia. In my case, I was deficient in B6. When I increased my B6 dosage from 30 mg to 60 mg, my sleep increased from 6 hrs to 7 hrs. It may be worth getting a blood test. All you may need to do is take a vitamin supplement. I have tried anxiolytics. They have awful side-effects and only mask your problems.
Kristine
You need to consult your doctor and get a sleep study done. Something isn't right and they will determine what it is and offer treatment.
BrokenManAgain
I've got one. Don't fight it. If you're getting up in the middle of the night. Use that time to your advantage. 7 minute workout? Read? Whatever. Be productive. When you're ready to go back to sleep, go back to sleep. Same thing during the day, if you're feeling tire, a 30 second-minute nap (set your watch/cell phone), then carry on.
rbrock2323
Have a sleep study done, you'll probably be prescribed a CPAP, and then happy dreams.
