really!! are they having their PA in the church? :lmao::lmao:

right after the sex they would just pray to Jesus to bless their betrayed:bunny::bunny: spouses

No, but they do it with their spouses right in the next room while they are on religious retreats or missions, and then they go pray, yes.

My mother in law is a renowned psychoanalyst who teaches at the college level, has a thriving private practice, and has published several books on relationships. Many of you have probably read her work.

She is on her fourth marriage. And this time it's to a barely closeted homosexua manl. You can't make this stuff up.

He's awesome by the way.

From what you've said it sounds like being gay is the secret to a happy marriage to your MIL.

Meanwhile, the guy who married us was, at the time, being divorced due to a long-running affair with a staffer. He was later "allowed to resign" (i.e. fired) and set himself up in the MC business. Successful, too.

It's not apples and apples, but some of the most effective members in AA/NA in terms of helping others are those that have suffered multiple issues and relapses themselves. Sometimes you have to have walked the walk....

I stay out of stuff like that, but I did encourage my friend to end her A. Instead of ending it, she decided to stop talking to me.

He's awesome but she isn't? If he's homesexual, he had no business marrying her either.

honestly, at their age, I don't know that it even matters to either of them.

Anyone else ever have to counsel people through this while hiding their own secrets? My struggle is providing advice without sounding like the infidelity expert that I've become.

Here's an idea you have not considered.

Stop keeping your own secrets and share your common history.

Well, I was just wondering why in your eyes, he is awesome but she isn't.

Be sure to tell your newly betrayed friend to visit the ChumpLady site so she can learn to deal with things realistically, not in the deluded fashion recommended by the more popular infidelity boards.

How about this - I have a friend who is having an affair (her H doesn't know) and gives marriage counseling to couples. (lol)

To add to the craziness of it, she is also an ordained minister and the man she is having an affair with is a church pastor. The affair is both emotional and physical and neither of their spouses know.

This doesn't surprise me, churches are filled with wolves in sheep's clothing, many of them in positions of leadership. They've turned Jesus into the laughingstock of the world, but they don't care. They just keep on moving along, steamrolling over anybody unfortunate enough to be in their path and they've convinced themselves that it's all okay cause Jesus loves them and wants them to be happy and their happiness is what matters most of all. I think they've mixed up Jesus with Freddy Fender. :D

You throw in the fact that many churches are in the business of concealing their members sins(the exact opposite of the way God commanded the church to deal with sin) so the offenders know that even if they do get caught with their pants down the church will more than likely keep it hush hush and guilt their betrayed spouses into compliance, all for the sake of the children of course.

I stay out of stuff like that, but I did encourage my friend to end her A. Instead of ending it, she decided to stop talking to me.

Sure she did, she can't have anybody bothering her conscience, oh no that won't do at all.

She is a grumpy old unhappy lady.

When the woman doesn't know, it's deception. Period.
