Online dating ?

Recommended Posts

In an effort to move on and hopefully speed up my recovery I joined an online dating site. Well guess who popped into my quick match? Yep the married/separated guy I just went NC with one month ago. I did not message him or break NC, I swiped it away as a pass. He was a high match for me, so I'm sure, no I'm positive, I showed up for him too. Our city is not that big so it was bound to happen. I decided that I was not getting off the site, I want to move on too and meet new people.

My curiosity got the better of me a couple hours later and I went to go see his profile. He completely deleted it. I wanted to make sure he just didn't just block me or hide from me so I went a different route and he did in fact delete it.

I don't get why he would do that? He can be on there and date if he wants to, it's a free world. He knows I'm not gonna message him after all I ended things and initiated NC and blocked him. I feel dumb because I feel a little hurt by it, like he hates me or never wanted to see my face again type of thing...

I don't know...has this happened or something similar to anyone else?

I guess it will become more common given the new dating technology.

It sounds like the guy was just embarrassed by the situation. If you rejected him it makes sense he might react like that.

Yet another reason why online dating looks so weird to me. I've never done it and not sure if I ever will.

It seems really convenient though. I'll give it that :/

He may have been embarassed by the possibility that you saw him, so you know he's still cheating. (Especially if he maintains that you were the first.) He may also have deleted his profile because his wife got suspicious, or some other common acquaintance was on there. Imagine how awkward if he saw a friend of his wife or someone like that? Very risky business when you're married.

Yea I can understand all that. I know I shouldn't let it bother me, just very strange tho.
