LookAtThisPOst
Don't get me wrong here, some of these profiles are rather nicely done and well written, but it seems a lot of them our starting to sound similar. You could say the words are "spun" to sound not AS repetitive, but they do seem it. I'm not criticising, but they are nicely written, and the person that wrote them seems to have it together. At least they aren't the demanding/angry sounding ones. I was reading this profile, very standard, vanilla even. For instance, (This is on OK Cupid). "You should message me if..." The response was, "If you're laid back and have a good sense of humor." Now this is likely seen on both profiles, both men and women. I mean, I would say "Laid back" and "sense of humor" is probably what any average person enjoys. "6 things we can't do with out" God, children, family, friends (first are pretty much stating the obvious), chapstick (yes...chapstick, lol), and chocolate. (Yes, chocolate is a typical one for women...though I love it too! lol) I love it, but I don't put it in my profile, I try to be unique in some of my responses. Her opening paragraph, though decently lengthy, but not too long is pretty much a list of standard things she enjoys like "UFC Fighting, BBQ's, fishing, comedy clubs, etc." A lot of their own self descriptions seems to almost mirror everyone elses. I have no qualms about emailing them, especially if they are relatively attractive in their photos and live close, just to see if they answer. But they've come to look so similar to me, I email them anyway, so that I can establish a date and would prefer to see how they are in person. I mean, if she enjoys a good sense of humor, I'd like to see how that plays out...in action. I do tend to find buzzwords that DO pop-out, esp. if they are into something most women are not into, but most are typically variants of each other. That being said, I'm guessing men don't mind though sending women messages regardless of how rather ordinary they are as long as there's a cute face behind it. I am hearing though, however, men may have to put more work into their profiles to garner a response?
Kamille
Maybe this is just a sign that you've analyzed and dissected way too many profiles. Time to move on to another hobby!
Popsicle
It's no surprise that people are by and large the same...
Rejected Rosebud
I am hearing though, however, men may have to put more work into their profiles to garner a response? Yes, I think you have at last discovered the big secret, women have it so so so easy!!! Now that you have learned this maybe you can investigate something new, maybe not having to do with online dating profiles? Maybe something more physical and healthy like windsurfing or riding a Segue??

EngnimaticResponse
Mine is completely original. "You should message me if.." You are riding a tricle, in the light of a full moon, while wearing purple striped knee socks and carrying a ping-pong paddle. Silly questions deserve silly answers.

I don't know, while I like the idea in theory, but it seems like every hipster on Ok Cupid has predictably "random" statements peppered into their profiles. It itself has become a cliché. It itself has become a cliché. Or the lists separated by commas? lol. Or the "6 things you cannot live without." They say, "Food, water, shelter, oxygen"
