TaraMaiden2
Just out of curiosity Tara. What would you say if I was the Senior Loss Prevention Supervisor at Arby's? Oh really? What does that entail? Do you get much wastage? How much annual wastage do you think you have? What's that in dollars? How would you curb that? What's your biggest loss? How much does THAT pay? Do you get perks? We could do with some beef! (lol) Could you get ME a job there? Sounds interesting!
TaraMaiden2
budget = math Yeah. Not all numbers come with algebra. It's a question of making sure your income exceeds expenditure. It's maths, not rocket science. We need... can we afford? Yes, or no? Yes? Buy. No? Go without. Sorted. Like I said, I did some self-schooling.

Author GH101
Then you really have to do some work here: on your career, your self-esteem and your opinions of your family. If they're so harsh and judgemental that you can't even be honest with them, you have some serious soul-searching to do, about remaining connected to people who are poisonous rather than supportive. I studied maths, in my own time, with no pressure. True story: My maths teacher was totally exasperated with me, because I could NOT get my head around algebra. a + b = x - y = 29. what is m? What the hell is all that crap about - ?! Anyway, during one lesson, she threw her hands up in the air, and yelled at me acoss the classroom: "*TaraMaiden!* Why can't you get this?! You have to learn! What is going to happen when you are working, and to need to work something out mathematically using algebra - ?!" To which I replied, "What the hell makes you think I would ever find - and get - a job where algebra is a pre-requisite!? No thanks! If I find a job, I'll make damn sure it's a skill I won't be needing!" "Well you won't be able to take a calculator with you everywhere you go!" (Oh, really? ) Find a career where maths isn't a pre-requisite. "Oh really? What do you teach? Where are you working? How many students do you have? How often do you teach? How old are your students? How long have you been doing that? Doing what? What's your latest project? For whom? How long will it take? What's the pay like? What are you working on, at the moment? What hours? How do you advertise? Do you have a website? How much do you charge? Yeah, right. The above questions will also need fielding. People are not just going to not ask you questions, particularly if they haven't seen you for a while. You're going to have to do better than that. And as you have a successful career, of course, you'll need to dress the part.... That's bull. If you were really a good liar, you would have worked out a failsafe plan already. Why are you being so abrasive? All I was looking for was some made up jobs. I have been saying I am tutoring. I have said it to people already and they all bought it because I answered all those questions and prepared. It's not that hard to lie if you if you practice and make sure you thought it through. Seriously, you are taking this too seriously.
Author GH101
I previously ran my own company. Then we moved abroad, and was put in charge of our local camp-site, which I ran and administered single-handedly. Then I came back to here, and ran a delicatessen/bistro for 5 years as a manager. Then I worked as a department head within a garden centre, and was responsible for a departmental budget of £120,000/year. Wow, nice good for you

Haydn
Yeah, the pay is astronomical - through the roof! Ask William, he'll back me up...! But with a bit of creativity..... It could have a fee for dispensing advice from `so called experts) `Not sure who to trust?` `For a small fee, problems solved` It could be a talking point with the OP`s family. sportygirl89
Have you tried taking math classes over summer?Typically more individualized. Did you have a tutor for math class? Most schools have free tutors. I'm not that good and I actually had to repeat statistics this summer and got a B.
purdyPeas
I'm lost here....."remedial math"? WTF? At Community College there is no such thing as that. There is General Education courses, which you must pass before even being allowed to test to the college, then there is "Business Math", which you must pass to get your PROGRAM DEGREE. There is no such thing as a Liberal Arts Degree round here at Community Colleges. Applied Science Associates Degree? Is that what is being spoken about for AA? Go take that math course and GET YOURSELF TUTORED on math and get your made up degree. Otherwise, I fail to see how you are living and paying your bills if not for living off of student loans. Volunteering is a great lie too. Perhaps your family will volunteer you to a job they could recommend?

Got it
Have you thought about being tutored yourself in math to pass the class? I greatly struggled in Latin, which was my foreign language gen ed. I got a tutor, I supplemented my four year degree with going to community college (since easier) and I worked really hard at it to pass. Did you seek help with it? In regards to lying about a job, I don't know. I really recommend not doing so. If you must find something generic and that you are versed enough in to speak intelligently about it.
