Hey LSers, I'm so sick, send me happy thoughts

Recommended Posts

At the Ravens game I started feeling so sick and had very bad pain in my back and side. I was getting horrible chills. When we got home my fever was 103 and the pain was so bad. My heart was racing at 140.

I went to ER and I have a bad kidney infection and the bacteria was in my bloodstream. Now I am in the hospital on IV antibiotics. My fever still spikes as soon as Tylenol wears off, so I'm worried. The pain is better thanks to the Dilaudid (works great:)). My family just left and now I'm sad :(.

I had a birth defect to in my kidney which was corrected by surgery when I was little, so they think this happened to me so quickly because the anatomy of my kidney isn't normal.

So I'm laying in a hospital bed watching The Voice, wishing I was home with the fam and my doggies.

Doesn't this stuff always happen right in the middle of football? Geez, my kids could be fine all week and as soon as the Seahawks played, they had malaria and Ebola....

Glad you at least have your iPad or phone with you.....LS might fall apart without you.

:p

:)Get better soon, QS!:) And keep some echinacea herb (organic, from a reputable source) around so that next time as soon as you feel bad you can take a dose. I promise you, it works real fast, much faster than antibiotics.

I've had kidney infections all my life (they hit me suddenly, too) and almost had to go to the hospital one time about it. Once I discovered echinacea I've never taken another antibiotic for a kidney infection. Another great benefit is you don't have to wait for a Dr. to call in a prescription, either. Or go to a Drs. office.

Sending you lots of positive energy and hugs. Fever will get better, it's your body's way of fighting this infection. And you're in a safe place with lots of Dr's and Nurses to help you.

I'd get ill too if I had to watch my team lose to the Browns so I don't blame your kidneys.

Timshel and I are hoping you're back home and all better Quiet.

Thanks for all your well wishes. I appreciate it :). Even all the way from Stamford Bridge!

I ended up with sepsis so I just got home today. Official diagnosis was severe acute pyleonephritis and sepsis. It likely started as a UTI, though I didn't have symptoms, and moved quickly to my kidney because of my abnormal anatomy (birth defect from a drug mom took while pregnant with me).

Scary for me, because I am usually very healthy. I am getting better, but I feel wiped out. My fever is gone. I just have no energy.

Losing to the Browns at home (first time since 2007) shocked my system so much that it poisoned my blood :lmao: I'm sure the Natty Bohs didn't help my kidney, either though:)

I'm just so glad to be home! So what if my favorite baseball, football, soccer teams and my kidneys suck this year? I'm home!

QS, do they or you know what caused it? I used to get kidney infections a lot and I could always tell when one was coming on- it sounds like this hit all of a sudden and to be hospitalized on top of it- wow. They never hospitalize unless you are dying (or close to it) here...

Anyway, I just saw your thread so am a little late ... oh well, best wishes anyway!

They say I had a UTi that traveled up to my kidney, and the bacteria (e. Coli) spilled into my blood. Sorry guys if TMI, but this is health forum so I'm going all out with the details!

However, I didn't have UTI symptoms. Looking back, I was having some pains in my side on Friday and Saturday but they weren't that bad. Saturday I was at my son's soccer tournament all day and thought the pain was from sitting in my fold up chair for so long. Sunday the pains got very bad and I had bad chills. When I got home from game temp was 103. I knew something was wrong and went to ER. So the kidney infection was festering untreated for at least a few days.
