Right with you.

I'm working on my anxieties too. And today what I learned is everything else with me is PERFECT.

I just lacked self confidence.

Once I build myself back up, watch out ladies :D:D:D

Good luck Naive!! :)

I find one thing that helps is just asking people straight up what you're thinking about. Most people have been really supportive of me, and just tell me like it is, and usually it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was. And a lot of people have experienced the same anxieties!

Hey honeybunny - I have TONS of faith in you! It WILL work, it WILL work etc... Keep an open mind, takes abit of getting used to this CBT, but once you get into it and feel comfy - Everything will seem more positive! You've taken a MAJOR step and should be very proud of yourself! You're fighting this f**k'n anxiety and doing something about it! Just a shame it takes so long to get in to see somebody...

Thanks for all your support during my low times. You always have said the kindest things to me!!! :)

Let us know how it goes!

Hugs!!

Well done, I wish you all the best and hope that you can deal with the problem.

I suffer also and know how hard it can be just going somewhere and then feeling that awful panic attack come on and you just get so scared.

Good luck and I know it is a big step doing what you are doing and it proves you will be strong and get through it!

Good luck with the shrink.

I have a friend that has this disorder and sees his shrink weekly in addition to popping pills to help with his anxiety.

It helps a little. But he is far from being cured. But IMHO it's doing nothing for him, he still sits at home all day playing games and refuses to do anything that's not at home.

I used to have slight social anxiety in my teenage years. but i've found that the more i put myself into new social environment/situations, the more it's helped me. The more you expose yourself to a form of habit, the more it'll become 2nd nature.

Thanks so much for your support. You definitely helped a lot in motivating me to go and see someone. I was to embarrassed to do it but it only took some reassurance. After my bf you were the only other person I told about this and you made me feel comfortable to say it here. Something I did not want to do but now that I think about it I am so glad I did. I hope that a few months from now I can say I am a lot better!!!

Aww thanks for that. It's great we can all come "out" and say it and be PROUD!! We're here, we've got anxiety! Get used to it!! (Me just trying to be funny - NO offense intended to anybody eh! :p )

I have NO clue what a MFT is. I'm gonna google it later and see. I can ask my therapist about it as well.

You've taken the first hard step and the rest will just fall into place. Hey, if I can do it, so can you! :)

not exactly sure how long he's been seeing the therapist.

I just remember last year him telling me he suffers from social anxiety and some other disorders. And not too long ago, i found out he was seeing a shrink and how his pills help him.

But im guessing about a year, more or less, not really sure.

A tip i can give you is be very accepting and willing for change (and personal growth), which will get you through this.

Yup, I agree! Keeping an open mind is the key. As much as I've hated to go through what I've been through - It DID happen for a reason and I've learned alot about myself, become stronger and met some amazing people who helped me along with way.

Once you realize that the whole "anxiety" issue is all in your head, I have no doubt that you will get over things very quickly. I wish you the best in pursuing this, but I know I don't have to. This is something that you have complete control over; you may just not yet realize it.
