My thoughts regarding my MIL problems

Recommended Posts

So as i have in previous threads said,i have problems with my MIL.She has 2 married sons, and both of us wives really can not stand her because of her nature. She can be nice, but is way too controlling and thinks its only she and her sons...we are just caricatures and should not be asked about anything.

Anyway ,this other daughter in law had recently enough and when MIL said to her some offensive things against her parents she exploded and said everything she thougt about her:rolleyes: so this shocked everyone and the MIL is now hurt as she thinks she is older and even she did wrong the DIL should just be quit and let her husband handle it

Her son took his wives side, and this hurt MIL even more...he went as far as when he visited alone our town he stayed at the place of his wives brother and not at his moms house....when MIL heard this she started crying out loud.My husband is now totally on his moms side, which makes us sometimes in bad mood...i know how his mom is,he knows it as well....but his only argument is "he should be embarrassed she is still his mom,he is such a coward for going just after his wife"

I know my hubby is fair and supports me but his reaction makes me scared he will from now on just support his mom...am i right about this? should i talk to him more about how she is? or just leave it? next time we have problems with her he will be reminded of her nature,,or'??

Leave it. The guy is defending his mom over his brother and SIL. Im sure he would take your side in an argument against his mom. Ive seen my wife do this when one of her siblings goes off on her mom. She bashes the brother or sister. A lot of times my wife is the one at odds with her mom. And im sure her brother and sister take moms side more often then hers in those instances. Its just the natural thing to do.

don't try to analyze everything and make things more complicated....or

Don't borrow trouble

I understand your point but it has been a part of our life for these couple of days,so it is hard to ignore it
