Minnie Posted May 25, 2005 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Hi everyone---Advice needed. Parents were visiting and are up in years. They left their wedding album here. We were moving many boxes around and sure enough had placed it aside to get back to them when it was inadvertantly placed in a box going off to charity. We have since called the charity and were told it was likely discarded. They have not seen it or recall it. So worried and sad. I have not told the folks yet. What do you think? Should I just not bring it up or is there a way to break this to them. I feel so very sad and cannot replace it. I know in the big scheme of things it is not a big issue but it will be to them. They are not really materialistic but rather nostalgic and certainly expected better. Let me know! Link to post Share on other sites
Thinkalot Posted May 25, 2005 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Oh dear- what a difficult situation for you and what a sad, unfortunate thing to have happened! I am not sure of the best course of action. I do know however, that I would not be able to keep the loss of the album a secret from my mum. I think it would eat me up. I guess it's likely that sooner or later your mum or dad will ask about the album? Are they both still quite with it? Link to post Share on other sites

Kids and house and spouse etc. but there is no excuse and I really am not sure what to do. I know I will come to some conclusion...have siblings but will not consult them this time. They will understand but would blurt it out in a moment that is not right.... I am really thinking it is best just to not bring it up. Deflect the interest, or be just clear I am not sure where it is ....as that is the case and know they will forgive me. Knowing my dad he will offer to go thru the boxes at home and stay here to help find it. Likely I will have to tell him. Maybe he would carry it ok between the two of us. Oh .....so sad.
