monkey00
Anyway, the reason im asking is because. Earlier this week, i had an old female friend get in touch with me. Actually through online. We ended up trading mobile #'s. I was pretty good friends with her throughout the middle of high school where we just slowly lost contact. Now 4 years later, she contacted me and asked if i wanted to hangout with her and her friends (that i know too). I agreed since after all these years we havent spoken and i had mutual feelings too and wanted to see how she was. So yesterday i hung out with them after work. I slapped her a big hug upon encounter. Although i wouldnt be out of line for asking her why she contacted me, she did give me a slight indirect explanation when we were alone. So basically what she said translated into this: She was curious to see how much i've changed. At first i thought she was intimidated by me, cause the whole night she didnt really seem like she wanted to talk to me. Until all the other friends left and it was us 2. Then she was much more talkative. I told her i'd visit her at baskin robbins (her job) this weekend. and she told me she'd give me a ring sunday for hanging out again. Honest to say, i dont know where this is all gonna end up, for better or worse....But we'll see. Right now i see her as a good friend, as i always have. But i suppose the idea of hooking up has crossed her mind on several occasions. It's a possibility, as we get along extremely well. So girls, what was your reason for contacting an old friend?? Merin
Hmmm.. Trying to think if I've ever done that.. Honestly I moved all of the time growing up so I didn't get to attached to people in school.. BUT IMO this girl seems to be interested in you (possibly romantically) you had said there was some attraction between the 2 of you back in the day, so maybe she was wanting to see if it was still there and if there is a possibility for the 2 of you to spark something.. BTW I don't think theres anything wrong with asking her "So what made you think about me?" doesn't seem unreasonable or wierd to ask that IMO... Good Luck with things, hope it goes well
BigB
I had an old friend contact me online a few days ago as well. I was about to start another thread about this,(mine is slightly more complicated) but I want to see where this goes.

I'm looking forward to building a bond with her, whether it may be a friendship or more. My friend mentioned to me as me being the rebound. Of course I have seen her with her bf in the street last fall. And he said to be careful. But of course whatever the agenda, is yet to be discovered.

prissymissy
Well, she generally could miss your friendship or she may be interested in more. I have done the both, A friend that i had since middle school, I have been desperatly trying to find bcause I have dreams about him that are unsettling. Also, I have contacted other people that I was truly interested in possibly dating. Chances are if you were "really good" friends, she may just miss you. See how she is reacting to you and go from there. Good Luck, you know relationships are better if they are friendships devoloped into relationships.
sarah12
So girls, what was your reason for contacting an old friend?? We had a big falling out and so a few years later, I was thinking about him again and thought I'd see how he was doing, now that we were hopefully mature enough to get past the big falling out. We now talk on occasion, I am definitely not interested in a relationship with him and never was.

Falling out?? sorry dont understand. it usually appears to me that opposite sexed friends normally lack sex appeal towards the other, which actually allows them to stay friends. well what happened was a mutual friend of ours told her he'd seen me at college (we attend the same college). and had mentioned to her that i'd gotten taller. That was what she told me that night. And thanks to curiosity to see how much i've changed, it was probably grounds for wanting to get in touch again. she sounded happy to hear me say that i'd visit her at work, she told me her working hrs and what days she worked. Would be fun to disappoint her and not show up wouldnt it? hehe Although out of all the girls i've ever known, she's the most unique. cause of her tom boyish type of personality. We had a big fight. When he met me, he had a big crush on me but he had a girlfriend and I wasn't interested anyways, but we stayed friends. Got in a big fight which led to us not talking. well what happened was a mutual friend of ours told her he'd seen me at college (we attend the same college). and had mentioned to her that i'd gotten taller. She said she wanted to contact you because she heard you got taller? Or the friend just mentioned that you got taller? Cause I highly doubt that a girl would contact an old friend just because she heard he got taller.
