One_Made_of_Silver
I met a woman at a networking function recently and had what I thought was a good conversation, talked about our interests, career paths, etc. Don't know if she's single. I want to write her an email suggesting we meet up soon. (The plan is to proceed as friends for a while, and if she happens to be single, we'll see what happens.) Does you guys have any suggestions about how I should word this?
TaraMaiden2
Seriously? Ok. "Hi, I just thought I'd drop you a line and see whether you'd like to meet up for lunch some time. I think personally, we seemed to have a lot in common, and I was really delighted to meet you and talk. Let me know whether you'd like to grab a bite to eat - my treat. Consider this a friendly attempt to get to know you better, but of course, if you have a partner, or are married, please feel free to decline the invitation. I would hate to inadvertently breach a boundary that might cause discomfort or embarrassment. Whatever your response, it was great meeting you, and I look forward to a reply. Kindest regards, <name>." Might as well go in fully open with intention than venture tentatively and mis-fire....
