Do the ladies like a man who is good with his hands? (Not in a sexual way)

To quote Red Green 'If the women don't find you handsome, they should find you handy'.

Absolutely a positive. My guy just fixed my stove, strung up to the outside

Christmas decorations and topped up the windshield washer in my car. I adore him.

The first time he was over he took apart some pipes and fixed a clog. I had been quoted about $800 for some camera to go into the pipes, repairs, etc. He just said 'let me look' and...Ta Da!

My dad was a whiz with fixing things. I just admire this in a man. It's not the particulars but the energy, confidence.

I agree, its the get up and go, that he is keeping busy and getting things done. I admire that even if i dont live up to it myself sometimes.

I'm pretty sure all women appreciate it, but just a few get really excited about it.

Image is also everything as well, as with most things.

I can fix/build literally anything. The short list off the top of my head:

Electrical, AC, DC, 3 Phase

Plumbing. Freshwater, grey water, black water

Computers. Can build them, program them, etc

Boats. Just finished a vacuum epoxy resin infused state of the art performance catamaran, from scratch

LPG/Propane. Do all my own flare fittings, etc

Power Generation: Solar, charge controllers, generators, battery banks and monitors

Equipping a boat. Anchor tackle, lines, marlinespike, etc

RVs. Built a very well functioning class B out of a Sprinter. One of the first conversons on that platform. Came in well undet grvw, air conditioning, generator, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, plumbing, etc.

Houses. Literally everything. Did it as a helper during school.

Painting. From simple latex interior on a roller to 2 part linear polyurethane through a Devibliss Spray gun

Higher tech. At NASA, I helped build... and write software for... sensors that are still in space sending data to earth, robotics, servos, controllers, built a computer controlled electromagnetic rail gun in high school

Engines. Rebuilt my ATV engine as a teenager. Can fix any small engine, outboard, lawnmower, generator, don't allow mechanics to touch my vehicles, including the diesel Mercedes sprinter i had, have Obd and other readers to read codes from cars, diagnose the problem and fix them

Pretty impressive right??

Wrong. Gets you zero points with the ladies.

The ones that do like a guy who can fix things like a rustic, blue collar LOOKING guy typically, not a guy with actual skills.

As is often the case in life, they fall for image over substance.

This is my experience, not meant to say women are bad, they just may not know what they are looking at when they estimate what a blue collar looking guy knows.

They wil fall for the look rather than the substance.

Kind of the same with Harley guys and whatnot. People think they are tough just because they bought a Harley and an orange and black leather costume at the shop where they bought the Harley.

There is some truth in the whole "style rather than substance" thing.

However...

If you were flaunting, bragging or boasting about all those things you can do with your hands...then that's likely the real reason why you weren't "scoring points" with women. Those attitudes are a sign of arrogance, and they are a sign that you are trying too hard to "impress" women. It's no different than guys who thump their chests for having a fast hot-rod car or having a high-dollar job.

If an opportunity naturally arises where you'll have an opportunity to work with your hands (e.g. something's wrong with her sink), then sure, confidently offer to spend a little time looking into it, assuming you actually know what you're doing. But even then, don't flaunt or make a big spectacle out of it (unless it's humorous in an appropriate and fitting sort of way)...just be yourself and keep it cool. If you fix the problem, great; if not...don't sweat it. Know your limits. She'll know whether you're good with your hands or not. Many women can tell the difference between someone who's truly good with their hands (and LIKES using his hands)...and someone who's just trying to impress.

It's the can-do positive attitude and confidence that really matters, in my opinion. Regardless of your talents/skills (be it hands or something else).

I adore a man who is handy and good at fixing and building things. I love doing projects together, and if he can bring skill and good humor to the table, that's excellent! Most women love feathering their nest/home and would deeply appreciate someone who is of practical assistance in doing that.

Yeah, this is a good summary.

If they already find you attractive, then you fixing things is hot. But they won't determine you are attractive BECAUSE you can fix things.

Anecdotally, building or fixing something for a girlfriend often ends in immediate sex. They're into you, and they see you as 'their man' - so watching you in particular do it turns them on.

Just don't count on it getting you interest.

My girlfriends have have always told me they find it sexy watching me do yard work and fixing stuff. Not sure if it draws women in but it does keep them around.

I've seen that too and I agree completely with your post.

Being able to fix things definitely won't get many women. If that was the case, they'd all be chasing mechanics, panel beaters and tradesmen rather than athletes, musicians and CEOs.
