SmileEmptySoul
Hey, Im 15 5'11 and im 198lbs. I have a big frame, Big shoulders, big chest, im like as big as some of the 18 yr olds. I have been losign some weight dont know exactly how much im not really keeping track. But people I havent seen over a couple of months tell me I lost weight. I can kind of see it to my face looks thinner and i look alot less chubbier. I have been jump roping for 15 mins and sparring on my boxing bag for 15 min and then do 45 min weight lifting a day. The thing is i find weird is that im not really losing alot of fat. my arms and my chest just looks alot more bulgy and big and it makes me look fatter i think. I flex and push down on all the regions of where muscle develop pecks, abs, back etc... and i feel alot of muscle but i have like fat covering it and it makes me look fatter. When i flex my lower stomach area and push in i have about 3/4 inch of fat.. I want to know how to get rid of my belly fat and below my arms on my back. What can i do to get rid of this? The only muscles i see that have become more defined are my chest, shoulder, and arms I look like the friken hulk or something. Im gaining muscle but not losing the fat is what it seems like to me.. And i also have a friend whos 17 and he takes like these pills called like crytean or something he buys them at the GNC so i know there not steroids. And he looks like a brickhouse. I am thinking of him getting me a bottle and just complete one and workout and see what the results are. I know my parents wouldnt approve of me taking this but i want to
sophia34
Hey there, Sounds like you have a great fitness routine going, but you didn't mention what you have done to change your eating habits? Working out is great for your heart, but if you're still eating poorly (lots of junk food and fast food, or simply eating too many oversized portions of any food), you're not going to lose weight, even if you're working out a lot. You'll just be building muscle under the fat tissue. Based on your initial post, my suggestion would be to evaluate your diet and try to cut out 500 calories a day (equal to three non-diet sodas a day, or two grab bags of full-fat chips, or one cheeseburger, or one to two pieces of pepperoni pizza, etc.) That would net you a pound weight loss per week. If you aren't eating oversize portions or junk food, then something else may be up. Either way, I would skip the crytean. Just because GNC sells it doesn't mean it's good for you. You're 15, so you're probably not going to listen to this--but, again, you're 15 and still growing. You don't know what that kind of stuff will do to your body over the long term (or the short term, for that matter) and you shouldn't mess with it.
agnf666
From past experience, When I was 15 I was your size. It was hard to eat right while going to high school and hanging with friends. I regret that. So, I have been in your shoes. I didn;t do the exercising that you are doing so that's good. Here's my advice for you. 1. Try to drink atleast 62 oz. of water a day, that will help you lose wieght. 2. Try to drink water before each meal so you won;t eat as much 3. If you go to a fast food place order the kid's meal. You may not think that it will help but ever little bit does. Also the wieght training may be a thing you might want to lay off of. You will gain muscle weight. So, then it you won't lose wieght. 4. Try eating serving sizes of everything. That makes a difference too. Good Luck!!!

moimeme
Please don't use it or any other supplements without first talking to your doctor. You are still growing and could harm yourself. I repeat - you are still growing. I'm betting that the next few years will see you turning lean and lithe because of all the workouts. This may actually still be remnants of so-called 'baby fat' which will vanish as you become a man. If you are eating well and working out, then you're doing all the right things. Keep it up and if you are still worried about your physique, talk to your doc. You need that body for the next 80 years so you can't afford to be screwing it up now.
scarlyjones
Creatine isnt for weight loss. Its for muscle growth. The only problem I can see from your story is that you havent mentioned that you have cut out or cut down anything in your diet. Also,....cardio. Thats is THE key ingrediant to fat loss. You need to to some eliptical or treadmill or simple jogging. Id say about 15 minutes three or four times a week. You dont nessesarily have to do a certain amount of miles. Just do 15 minutes. How ever far you get during that 15 minutes is fine. Plus......how much weight have you lost? You mentioned you werent happy with your current rate of loss, but, didnt say what that rate was. Keep in mind that ALL people think that they arent losing fast enough. I lost 65 lbs in 3 months. THAT was even too fast. So,...dont worry about the muscle part of it. Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space. So if you only seem to lose like 10 lbs in two months,...it could very well be because you gained like 8 lbs of muscle WHILE losing 15 lbs of fat!!!! The scale is really the LAST thing you should pay attention to while dieting. We all have unrealistic goals and timeframes when it comes to losing weight, so weighing yourself too often can actually DE-motivate you. You get the "OOOOH, whats the use?" then a case of the "f*ck-its" and quit all together. So dont weigh yourself but once a week. Doctors have told me that when losing weight or lifting weights,....it takes 1 month for others to notice it on us,...and it takes 2 months for us to notice it on ourselves. Dont buy into any gimmicks either. Creatine isnt the answer. You can actually end up putting on more weight with it. Good Luck
BrotherAaron
Don't focus on losing weight, focus on losing fat. Would it really be so bad to weigh 198 lbs in muscle, be as big as the 18 year olds and have a low amount of body fat? Keep doing the weight lifting, maybe add a little more aerobic excercise in there - just walking for 30-45 minutes three times a week can make a stellar difference.
scarlyjones
Oh,...........yeah,.......Im sorry. Thats what I meant. Yeah, keep up the weight training definitely. Just incorporate alot of cardio. (Treadmill, stairclimber,...jogging) You will be burning off fat WHILE adding muscle. THATS the fastest way to a better body. For instance,...you can do crunches til the cows come home. You wont see a single abdominal muscle if you havent burned off the fat. Realistically,....you may even have a developed sixpack under there. Once you strip away the fat,...THATS when you see it. Alot of people think if they dont have abs that show,..it must be because they arent developed. Thats not always true. Trust me,...you sound like you are doing everything the right way. Losing weight in a healthy way is the best. You wont gain it all back that way. Too many people go on these starving diets and then go right back to eating the same crap they used to once they lose the weight. Then they gain it aaaaaaaaaaaall back in like one month and then some.

It's more useful when you're already fit.
Author SmileEmptySoul
Well, i guess im sticking to my plan i have already.. scarlyjones
When I lost my weight.......(I went from 220 down to 119 back in the early 1990's.)....I did cardio ALOT!!!!!!!! 6 times a week for 20 minutes or so. I ate ALOT of citrus. Mostly oranges. Those were my snacks. I will admit that I did forgo some meals and DID feel hungry. I wouldnt recommend that. The big thing now a days I hear is that instead of a solid three meals,....people are seeing great results with having 5 or 6 small meals a day,...split up like 4 hrs apart. So you dont really get to the point of feeling HHhhHHhHungry but at the same time your not overeating either. If I were able to go back and do it again,.. I would do it that way. But the oranges did wonders for satisfying me for a snack. I'd eat like 8 of them a day. Good, but expensive too. Just keep pumpin away at it,....you will see the results you want sooner than you think as long as you stick to it.
