Hello Singles! Where will you be this festive season?

Recommended Posts

Just got broken up with early Nov, was supposed to visit my ex bf in another country, celebrating the NY together...oh well

Anyhow, I'll still be flying there but not for him anymore, I'm gonna spend a couple of days alone in a foreign city.

I'm not sad anymore so I really look forward to the trip where I'll get to meet some new and cool friends! :)

Glad to hear your over your BF and off to a new country after new adventures!

As for me, I too am recently single and am off to spend the holidays with my parents at our beach home in Florida. Nothing says Christmas like sand, sun and palm trees :p

Heh, barring serious snow, I'll be back up at my other place in the forests of Oregon for Christmas, bring along some decorations, fire up the oven and bake some of my traditional holiday stuff and go meet the neighbors. When we were building the pump house in October the old guy who lives nearby stopped by to see what we were doing and I learned he's a retired machinist so I think I'll bring some cookies to him and his apparently bedridden wife and we can hang out in his shop and talk, well, guy stuff. Heh. Nothing spectacular, just plain old living.

Ha, just reminded me to take along my Rudolph DVD, continuing a holiday tradition dating from, whoa, 1964. I gave up trying to catch it on network TV so bought the DVD. I think it's OK to be a bit of a kid at Christmas. Hope everyone has a safe and memorable holiday season.

I have three Christmas parties on Saturday :). Actual Christmas eve/day I have no idea! That's the beauty of being single.

Same as every year, Christmas with my extended family, adults playing with this littlest ones and their newest toys, with a giant potluck dinner and probably some good whiskey and sangria getting passed around.

My grandmother is such a good cook that my recent ex actually asked if I would bring him leftovers.

I will be home visiting my family.

And planning my next trip. It has to be an adventure though, where I come back with lots of stories and experiences and having learned something. Hell maybe I will meet someone and have a little vacation romance. Learning how to surf in Costa Rica and then going hiking does sound kind of sweet.

I'm seeing that a great way to use the time being single is to grow and explore.

Well, December is party time so I'm out with friends as often as possible. And there are enough opportunities to go out indeed; today while taking a break I checked my messages and saw that I had gotten an invite from an old acquaintance to come to her very spontaneously-planned party right now. :lmao: Had to decline this time. This time.

This is so true! I'll be home for Xmas as well (though we don't actually celebrate it, but my dad will be getting married on boxing day!)

Also, have you explored the other side of the world as well? i.e. Asia, Australia/NZ

Spending the holidays with family. I don't have any real friends, so I'll be with my family the whole time. I love my family, so I'm good with that.

What will be hard is that it's my first Christmas since the breakup. And my birthday is a few days after Christmas & then HIS birthday is 2 days after mine.

In all probability I will be at home working.

All the festive season does is make me feel more alone than ever, will surf a bit from time to time, hope to get a bit fitter.

All in all a fairly bleak time of the year for me.

I'll probably be resting in a comfy coffin.

Might get to enjoy some of Christmas with my new colleagues or potential new flatmates

Next big celebration I am looking forward to experiencing is their new year-dragons, lanterns and firecrackers...yay!!! :D

Spending Christmas day with my kiddos then we're all off to a Cali beach for a day, a few days at Magic Mountain testing my scream reflex, then off to the dunes kicking it up in the sand for a week with a big group of friends. Probably hit a few happy hours with friends before Christmas ... bound to be some cute and nice guys there right?

I'll be checking craigslist and humane society every day after Christmas to adopt a "holiday" puppy. Lost a pup to cancer this year and ready to rescue one ... or maybe the pup rescues us:)

My late husband's pup (my avatar) passed from cancer too, he was 13. So glad you will be adopting! I have two atm, one from a no kill shelter and the other is full bred.

Merry Holiday :)

I will either be at home this Christmas or I have decided to go to work that day just to avoid my family and the headaches they typically give me.

All while getting ready for New Year's. I would most likely be downtown for the yearly event and perhaps hope that next year would be the year I make some real progress in relationships and work.
