Well, I asked, and he does do the smokey pokey. He says a few bowls during the weekend and some weeknights. How much is a bowl???

 

I didn't ask if that was related to the checks or if he was dealing it... just workin' it a little at a time here.

 

He gets his face massaged by a licensed massage therapist pretty frequently too since he had an accident that damaged his face- that could explain the checks. That is quite a lot for a facial massage though.

You'll be surprised how much licensed physical therapist make...the real ones...not the "me love you long time" ones.

A bowl here or there equates to maybe a half a quarter tops....and that isn't much at all compared to the pothead (I smoked ALOT) who could smoke constantly.

A bowl isnt much...............but I would be suprised if that was REALLY all he smoked. Most people under exaggerate how much when they tell people who DONT smoke. And waaaay exaggerate to those who DO !! But a couple of bowls a weekend isnt $160.00. Plus,...I dont think you can just buy a couple of bowls.

Depending on the LMC, around here (where there are a plethora of LMCs - Licensed Massage Therapists) it costs around $120 for an hour. He could be getting full body massages. I went to massage school and it really is worth it to go to an LMC for a massage. They know all these tricks.

 

But I smoke about as much as he describes, a bowl or two a day, and I seriously only spend like $60-100 every 2 weeks. So that can't be the only thing. And no pot dealer takes checks, I'm sorry. Unless they have serious issues wanting to be caught by the cops!

so, i take it since he does do pot, the calls are to his dealer to order some. now that i think of it, he runs out of cash pretty fast sometimes- must be for the pot.

 

the checks are probably for the facial therapist. he does get body massages, but always pays for those w/ credit card. $160 sounds like a lot for a facial massage- maybe he gets them for 90 min. or 2 hours or maybe she's a specialist. i don't know why he wouldn't share this w/ me to begin with. hope it's not one of those 'me love u long time' ones, but i'd think they'd be more expensive.

The 'bowl' is the part of the smoking apparattus that contains the pot.

 

You use your lighter near the bowl, inhale, and you're sucking the flame into the bowl, which ignites the marijuana and eventually gets smoke to your eager lungs.

 

The amount in a bowl depends on how much he's smoking, you can pack a bowl with a lot of weed, or not. It also depends on the size of the bowl, you can fit a lot more into some of the larger bongs than you can in a personal glass pipe.

 

$160 of weed is a strange amount. It's way too much to be smoking, and not enough to be seriously dealing.

 

I don't know what it's like in LA, but that could probably get a casual midnight toker enough to last 6-8 weeks.

 

I think you misunderstand the pot dealing system. It's really not as cloak and dagger as you'd expect. Usually every pot smoker has friends who smoke it as well, and you usually buy it from friends. Maybe things are different for adults.

I guy I know would sell you a quad for $160...... it really isn't that much to buy just for personal use especially if it is good stuff.

A quad as in a quarter ounce?

 

A quarter ounce of marijuana per week is a lot of weed. It's certainly more than a few bowls now and then. If it's "good stuff" (which it should be if it's an 160$ quarter ounce) then you'd only need to smoke less to get stoned.

On a serious note if you don't ask, he won't tell. Has anyone thought this may have something to do with him and the "rocker guy" going half and selling together? Drug dealers don't take checks be your man may be writing the rocker a check to cover his half.

 

It could also be gambling, but not likely.

 

My last theory is what if he was loaning the other guy money and the 5k was a lump payment back?

 

If he is selling it, he doesn't have to be smoking it. The best dealers are those who don't smoke their profit. Really, just ask him. What's the big deal?????

I didn't respond to this thread because of it's title......Is my bf on pot? It suggests that smoking pot is an addiction. That one can get, "hooked", on smoking it. I admit, I love to smoke it, but I've never been addicted or hooked on it. Most people I know smoke pot. The poor and the wealthy. I don't agree with society that pot smokers are lazy, and are good for nothing either. I know for a fact that pot smokers can and are repected members of society.

Moose, from reading your many posts here I've gathered that you're a born-again Christian (cool). Yet I'm, kind of, surprised to see you so openly admit that you smoke dope. Isn't part of Christianity about respecting the laws of the land (which is therefore respecting God)? Pot is illegal (no newsflash there). So you call yourself a Christian yet you openly admit to consuming something that's clearly illegal - and you're almost endorsing it here? Hopefully non-Christians reading this aren't going to think that Christians as a whole think it's cool and acceptable to do drugs and break the law.

 

By the way, I used to live in a small coastal town where people grew dope like the rest of us grow tomatoes and lettuce............they were the most baked people I'd ever come across in my life. Many were so burnt out that they thought it was really cool to smoke up and then go work down in the local Pulp/Paper Mill - operating all kinds of safety-sensitive equipment......hell, it was common knowledge that they smoked it on the job, on their breaks. The whole mindset and atmosphere there was surreal. And in all honesty, I never came across a more lazy group of people in my life. So laid back, poor work ethic, spend their free time getting high, partying, either buying or growing their dope. And yep, they were people from all walks of life, all different socioeconomic backgrounds. A lot of them were in their 40s and 50s - a lot would actually sit around and smoke dope with their teenage kids. Imagine a bunch of burnt-out surfer-types, only not surfers - just baked people who wore a lot of flannel.

 

By the way, do you think Jesus would smoke dope if He were here on Earth?

There are alot of drugs out here in this world. I've never done anything man made, and rightly so because I'm a habitual offender, ( I'd like it too much ), you may not know this, but I have Parkinson's, weed calms my tremors somehow, I self medicate.

 

Yes it is illegal because it's not prescibed to me, and I definitely don't let others IRL know I consume it. But I do realize that it may offend some of my Christian Brothers and Sisters, and I follow the Bible when it tells us not to do anything, in the presence of them that may offend.

 

However, this is an open forum where Christians and Non-Christians alike converse and share opinions. I'm not offending anyone intentionally. If Christians get the idea that smoking illegal pot is OK for their spiritual walk, it's not because I told them so. I do hope, though, that those who do smoke pot, and are thinking of becoming Christians, realize that it is possible for God to love them as much as He does the non-smokers, ( because He does ).

Hopefully non-Christians reading this aren't going to think that Christians as a whole think it's cool and acceptable to do drugs and break the law.

Personally, I don't think they will. If they're truly Christian, they'd know no man has a bearing on their personal walk with God.

 

As for the rest of your post. I admit I've come across the baked people before and I know the type you're talking about. They do exist. It's obvious that some people don't believe in moderation. I do. And most of the smokers I know exercise moderation as well.

I'm not going to answer that. Let's just say I believe we'll all be surprised by what Jesus is actually like when He does return.

What was Jesus' first miracle? I'm not meaning to answer a question with a question, but even Jesus drank, of course like I've mentioned before, these pleasures should be enjoyed in moderation. I hardly doubt He drank in excess. It's not what goes into your mouth that makes you a sinful person, it's what comes out.

 

We're gettting off topic, and I'm going to stop now. The OP's boyfriend may use pot, but he's not addicted to the drug, he's probably addicted to the $$$$ he's making if he even is.....
