craw
It's been over a year and I can't stop thinking about this guy. It's ridiculous. It is pretty lame. I even did psych k to forget about him. We are not in contact. I did drunkenly message him on whatsapp. I sent a totally cringy message to him. I'm way too embarrassed to post it on here, LOL. I've tried meeting other guys. I have been with other guys. I guess I just wanted to share.:sick::sick: The chances of us being together is very slim. Thoughts?

If it is meant to happen it will happen, but do not wait around for it. As silly as it sounds my ex was my first serious relationship. It took me two years to be okay with everything and we only dated for 6 months. He claimed you couldn't fall in love with someone in 4 months. 3 girlfriends later he is engaged at 4 months. I hope he really is happy with that much of a rush of a relationship.
Els
The chances of us being together is very slim. Why so? Is it a dealbreaker in his personality, or he just isn't interested, or is it circumstantial (career, distance, etc)?

It is not ridiculous or lame as you described it. Everyone deals with breakups in their own unique way, so it is ok, don't worry. I am sure that you cross his thoughts as well, you are not forgotten. If I were you I would start dating again. Get on a credible dating site and actively participate in this......passively waiting for Mr Right to knock on you door might take a long time. Meet up with many men for coffee dates and have light conversations with them. (don't talk about exes) New experiences, new reads, catching up with girlfriends, cooking, gardening, documentaries on Netlix, gym...etc many ways for distractions and avenues for growth.

Thank you, I need to read this - again and again. I have been to a slack software engineering meet up, but that's about it. Hmm.
JangMi1221
Wow, I'm in similar situation. I know how you feel. I fell hard for a guy that I'm trying to get over. It's been about a month and half since we parted ways but I think about him everyday. Some days I feel like I'm going insane. Hang in there. I don't even know what advice to give - just wanted you to know that I feel what you're feeling. Just keep telling yourself that there's a light at the other end. I pray for God's peace in your spirit regarding this.

genever
You aren't alone!! You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I'm in a similar situation, I think about this guy constantly, have tried to get over it, but I've just got to push the thoughts out of my head, try my best to do other things, and realize when I'm over him, I'm over him, and unfortunately I'm doing all I can until that happens. I have sent some of the most embarrassing messages that still make me blush, and then other messages on top of that apologizing for the message, etc. But you know what? Almost everyone I know has done the same thing, and most of the time it's not as bad as you think, and the guy doesn't even think twice about it because no one thinks about you, negatively, as much as you think of yourself. You're the only one judging you! Good luck, and hang in there.
