What are your new year resolutions?

Mine are the following:

 

1)Get cleared at training organization.

2) Graduate from my second bachelors degree in May.

3) Ultimately being genuinely nice to everyone (even my haters)

4) Clean up my diet and stick to it.

5) Get a job offer pending graduation.

6) Find ways to stay consistently happy.

7) Grow spiritually and for my faith to grow as well.

8) Overall, be a better person.

Mine would be simple - as it has been for the past years. :(

 

Find a decent man, and hopefully get married.

 

It's sad I have to keep recycling New Year's hopes and wishes each year.

1. Get healthy and lose all the weight I gained back.

2. Get my old job back or find one where I don't have to deal with people.

3. Find a woman who will accept me for who I am and what I look like. And who doesn't want to be "just friends". Although this NYR never happens.

1. Be less deadline oriented. Stay on top of things at work instead of doing everything in a hurry or on my own time

2. Not think about ex

3. Break 160 lbs and get under 10% BF

4. Replace the ~20mins a day I spend reading about sports with something more significant

2- Kidnapp a brit and make him my sex slave.

3- Become a better version of myself.

1. Try to become more self-sufficient, maybe move out.

2. Drop the weight that I had gained throughout the course of these past few weeks, maybe more.

3. Try to get my name out there as a journalist through various publications.

4. Finally start blogging. I tried my hand at it for a class. I just need to start MY OWN blog, or a few blogs for that matter. (I have various subjects I want to blog about)

5. Learn more about photography.

6. Try to ease my temper when someone makes me mad.

I hear you about the #6. I don't verbally get angry but people see my facial expressions.

3. Keep up with the healthy eating and exercise

4. Continue to save money

5. Stop winding myself up by looking at the Daily Mail website.

If you don't mind me commenting, it won't be possible to grow spiritually and be a better person if you try to uphold 3) and 6). When people are rude to you they have to be put in their place. Letting abusive people get away with their antisocial behaviour is not doing them or you a service. It doesn't mean you have to be rude back to them, but don't be "nice" either, or they will walk all over you. So regarding 3), stand up for yourself. Re- 6), chasing happiness is what causes depression. Never deny your feelings whatever they are, let yourself be the feeling human you were designed to be. Rather than trying to avoid sadness and pain, when it comes, embrace it and thank it for giving you the opportunity to be a wiser and more insightful person.

For me...

 

Save money so I can buy a house of my own

Continue to do hiking trips and meet new friends & reconnect with old ones

Lose 35lbs & get to the gym 3-5 times a week

Write

Learn new stuff

Land a job where I feel empowered - either at my current level/salary or by moving into management

Be myself and follow my passions & wants

Do not buy a lot gifts for other people - family, friends, etc.

 

Open up to someone to let the toxic shame out
