sportygirl89
My brothers roommate from college remained single rest of college up to a couple years ago (so roughly 6 years single), and my brother said he is pretty serious and soon to be engaged. I love hopeful stories like these. In June I'll be single for 3 years. How long have you guys been single? Edited December 27, 2015 by sportygirl89
Nimue
Two years for me... But yeah, there is hope for us, we are in a world where people can even fall in love through 9gag chat. I should probably start chilling there
hotpotato
I was single for nearly 3 years, but I don't view being single as something bad.
Nimue
Me neither, but there's a limit to how long one can live in a 24/7 home/office life and be ok without company.
RyanBeynolds
My first girlfriend was when I was 20, but I suppose it was more of by choice. I am interested in dating now, though. First girlfriend was trouble, I should have picked a better one, but I'm happy I got some experience and knew I was capable of being a great boyfriend! I have been single for 5 months now after breaking up with her .

carhill
I've been single for a bit over five years since my exW and I divorced. While the hope you outline for your brother's roommate is quite valid in that age group, essentially hope to find an intimate partner, hope is a wide-ranging perspective and feeling and each of us interprets it differently. My version is I hope to live a long life and experience many challenges, successes and loves in it. All of that is unknown so I accept today, the end of another year, as one more day along that path. It's a good day to be alive. Experiencing marriage, divorce and death changed a few perspectives and priorities on the hope front. Life is like that.
FNKP7M85
Two years for me. Was serious w. my prior for three and was married for 20 before that. With all this "experience" comes knowledge about myself. For example, it is apparent that I'm attracted to crazy. I learned this the hard way, but at least I did eventually figure it out and will hopefully not make the same life choices yet again. Many people never learn from their pasts...... oberkeat
I've been "single" (as in not having an official girlfriend) for 5 1/2 years. But I have been on tons of dates and even had sex since then. And since regular sex is all I'm interested in, not really a relationship, per say, the 5 1/2 years doesn't really mean anything to me.
