NC. My take on it. Does it make them leave or come back.

Here are the books I am reading or have read:

1. Love Must Be Tough - Dr. James R. Dobson

2. No More Mr. Nice Guy - Robert A Glover

3. How To Raise Your Self Esteem - Nathaniel Branden (currently reading)

4. Being a Man in a Woman's World - by Dennis W. Neder (On back order, it's so popular)

#1 is for singles who need to know the "dating" rules but mostly is for a married person trying to fix their marriage)

#2 Is for "door mats"

#3 is of course for building self-esteem

#4 is for understanding how to act like a man with a woman

I am not normally a book worm but given how brokenhearted I am, I NEVER want to feel this way again and I know I contributed a lot to the demise of my relationship.

So, reading these books has really, and I mean REALLY (along with Therapy) understand why I did what I did and has given me the basis for fixing my issues so I do not repeat the same mistakes.

funny confused, that is exactly all of the things i am doing... so far therapy has helped a lot... i'm also reading men are from mars, women are from venus (on dating)...

good read.

Wanna tell us sometime what you're learning? Some of these titles aren't so easy to get hold of on this side of the Atlantic...

Damn that was good advice! I should print that out and stick it on my fridge...

Or give me your number and I'll call YOU everytime I feel like calling the ex!!! Just kidding, that was very well said. Thanks.

Brother Aaron thanks heaps again... I really did print this out and stick it on my fridge at home, and it helps...it makes PERFECT sense. I glance at it, then I re-read it again and then I feel strong & empowered again. Better than caffeine I say!

To Beth and anyone else struggling with the NC thing or the closure thing, I suggest having another read of BA's post - it gave me strength and I hope it does you too.

For the impatient ones, its here http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t64081/

Good for you. Sorry about the new guy but if he doesn't appreciate you or is a commitment phobe, then don't waste your time. At least you found out now.

Keep following the advice.

How's your self-esteem and confidence? Are you feeling good about yourself?

Self-esteem, confidence?? Well, let's just say I'm working on it. I'm learning to enjoy my time alone again... Ironically, just after we ended things, I moved out on my own for the first REAL time... no roomates, no one, just ME. And I'm loving it!!

I've been doing tons of counsilling, very enlightening. Will write u more later...

Thanks for asking Confused. :)

No problem.

Set some goals for yourself used the F.A.I.T.H. based method and concentrate on that. It will build up your self-esteem, sense of self-worth and confidence.

Let me know how it goes.
