Obsession with the Not Quite Other Woman

Recommended Posts

OP, I'm late to the party and I'll keep my comments brief.

1) You are not alone in your situation. Many of us get infatuated with others.

2) Perhaps try to find an accountability partner or IC. If you can get some IC on the down low from your wife, that could help. Even just finding a friend on here to lean on might be helpful in discussing your feelings. I know it's hard to find a "real life" friend or family member for this task because you don't want to burden them with this info, and you don't want to risk them sharing the info with your wife.

3) Remember that this woman (who I have no doubt is probably desirable, charming, etc.) poops and picks her nose like everyone else. So take her off the pedestal in your mind.

I wish you the best!

Bluntly, since I've gotten pregnant I've had a constant urge to cheat. It's totally counter-intuitive.

I wake up feeling ridiculously horny in the mornings but also very tempted to hook up with someone, escape with someone, make my life more fun and have hot sex.

to one another.

I was pregnant last year, and throughout my pregnancy my libido was through the roof. I googled things about it, but found that most pregnant women were not in the mood. I did not have the urge to cheat, but I was watch porn everyday, several times a day, and masturbating at least twice, if not 3x a day on top of having sex.

My poor husband's libido was low at the time. Not only was he hammered with work but his father had very suddenly passed away (we found out I was pregnant on the day of his funeral). We still had pretty regular sex, but it was not enough.

After our daughter was born I thought my libido would go back to normal, but it did not. So after much thought, research, and talking with my doctor, we ended up starting sex again 4 weeks postpartum instead of the recommended 6.

My daughter is 7 months now, and I think my libido is just now going back to normal levels. I am glad things are starting to settle down, it is hard to concentrate in the day when all you can think about is sex. Hormones are just kind of funny that way.

Thanks for mentioning this. I went through similar with my last pregnancy.

Luckily husband has started to step up more in that dept lately.
