adam
i just have the basic question...because we have to hurry the process up a little bit becasue of outside circumstances that we cant control. and we are getting rings but it takes 3 weeks to get ...and we dont have that time. so, my question is do u need a ring present at the wedding weather it be a civil service or a full blown one to make the marriage offical?? thanks
laRubiaBonita
no, you do not. The wedding certificate you will sign makes the marriage "official". the ring is just a symbolic representation of everlasting, non-ending love-type stuff. You could even use a stand-in ring at the ceremony you will be having, and when you get the real rings, just put those on......or do an even more romantic private presentation of rings to each other. Thinkalot
Yep- I'd use a stand in ring...just use something you already have (if you have a ring)...if not, it's OK
Groovy
Just get a CZ ring at a retail store until you can afford something better. Marraige is not about getting a diamond ring anyway, it's just a perk
Zaira
I agree - use a stand in ring, or exchange something else of sentimental value Enjoy your big day

Marraige is not about getting a diamond ring anyway, it's just a perk He didn't ask about a "diamond ring" - he asked merely about wedding bands.
