Figured Out My Problem - Extreme Burnout

Recommended Posts

You know all my posts about "what should I do?", "I'm so tired", "never able to get relationships past the initial stages", etc?

Well, I nearly sold my boat yesterday after one sleepless night on it due to rough weather.

One night.

I came up with this whole plan to buy an RV, then land for a tiny house project. An instinct to run.

As I looked at RVs, I saw they were massively overpriced junk. I thought about how I could build a small house, then noticed codes and zoning laws were beyond stupid, which reminded me of exactly why I went with boats to begin with.

A full circle.

Building a new RV would be just as labor intensive as doing the inside of my boat. A little less... but not much less.

The main conclusion of all that wasted thinking is:

I'm suffering from extreme burnout!

I fit every personality type, every symptom. If you read the problems people have when suffering from burnout, you'll see everything I've been posting about asking for advice on. You'll see why I'm so stuck.

Burnout is causing me to be indecisive. I'm a leader, I don't have decision making problems. Yet... I do in my own personal life.

I can't decide my lifestyle/path and I can't decide which girls to pursue. It's one in the same problem.

I'm burnt out on both personal life decisions and decisions on which girl to pursue.

I do the fade on every single girl as we get closer. :(

It's because just like the rest of my life, with girIs can't decide and.... I can't decide because of extreme burnout.

It's also the reason work has completely stopped on the interior of the boat.

It's a sad diagnosis because it's not going to get better any time soon. :(

I think you should sell it, I'm not saying get out of having a boat though.. You need to get rid of this ghost boat and start a new life and stop living in your old married life/dreams..

You will feel so much better...

Dump the boat.. buy a new one that can be fun instead of exhausting, this dream has turned into a nightmare.

Take care of yourself and clean house

I appreciate your comments, including in that other thread.

The one thing I've been able to identify is the burnout.

This means now, while I'm not thinking clearly, isn't the time to go making rash decisions.

I'm just going to do nothing but relax, work the 60hr a week NY business (which isn't demanding, just repetitive and boring) and let life take me.

I need time off. I can't make *any* decisions until I've recovered.

This may include sticking the boat in storage and renting an apartment in Manhattan this summer. I just don't know. But the prospect of having a getaway in the Hamptons (boat) does sound pretty appealing. :D

I'm just going to do nothing. Literally. No moves, no plans, nothing.

Just work, let the money pile up and let things develop naturally... let them come to me.

On the logical side, this is one of the best boats you could ever buy. It's very unique.

The hull is perfection.

I couldn't afford to buy one later and I'm never building one again. These boats are in the millions of $$$$ to buy. So... if I unload it, it's permanent.

Not a decision to be taken lightly.

I'm just doing nothing until a path comes to me...

This part though... yes.

This time off is exactly for this purpose. To abandon all of that and move forward with as few preconceived notions as possible. Being more open to various things.

I'm going to go back to sleep now... :D

Burnout isn't a condition that's diagnosed.

I think this is a cop-out.

Burnout happens when you're stuck in a demanding position of some sort and spinning your wheels without a desired outcome, leading to extreme frustration. You're the epitome of a free bird. You can't be burnt out under those circumstances. It's counter-intuitive.

Yeah, I'm just making it up. It's not a real condition. Allergies are fake too, right? You know better than the world's leading mental health experts.

If you read what I've been through in the past 5 years or so on here, you'll see "stuck in a demanding position of some sort and spinning your wheels without a desired outcome, leading to extreme frustration" describes my exact life experience.

You seem to be always chasing the next "high".

Even posting here could be seeking a high: the rush of attention and conflict.

Is all that noise necessary to avoid something?
