What are YOU doing to yourself?

Recommended Posts

Without going into detail on my past, this is what I am working on currently to help myself (a 34 year old male with no relationship or dating history):

-Studying "How to be a 3% Man" by coach Corey Wayne.

-Reading "The Art of Mingling" by Jeanne Martinet.

-Following Dating coaches on YouTube that use natural pickup and relationship advice, like Stephan Erdman, Hayley Quinn, and Corey Wayne (as well as some day/night game pros for the entertainment and enticement)

-Working harder at the gym than before.

-Working harder at leaving my current job, even if for a small paycut - I no longer see a future where I am now.

-Not being afraid to approach girls, and working on being socially comfortable.

-Trying to (very) slowly rework my circle of friends (this one is always tough, as I have always had very small circles).

-Posting on forums, discussing, and sharing stories helps me get this off my chest so I can move forward with ease.

-Recognizing and learning about WHAT/WHERE I have gone wrong in the past, and figuring out what I can do about it.

Trying to action all this.....is difficult! Especially the going out and picking up stuff.

p.s. I HATE online dating. It's a robbery.

I like you. A few words of advice:

*What matters is application, not theory. If you're spending an hour on theory (no matter what the skill being acquired may be), you need to spend two hours on hands-on practice.

*Do you have a timeline? Make a calendar and put some concrete benchmarks on it. When are you going to have a new job by, for example? It's great that you are capable of looking at yourself through a constructive lens but you need to set deadlines and you need to see them through.

That's right. At this point, I am using the saturation of knowledge to give me the confidence edge to go out and do it, which is the hardest part.

At the same time as doing this, though, I am heavily criticizing myself and wondering what it would take to overcome my many walls that have held me back.

Oh but its not the hardest part. That's my point. Its quite easy to do some of the things you want to do and the resistance is artificial constructs in your head. That's why I say get out and practice. There's nothing weird or hard about being merely friendly. The weirdos are the people who find basic human interaction weird. Getting a new job isn't hard - what are you doing to make it happen?

Again, I like you. I like people who care about learning. But in life, be careful to have the right balance of thinking about it, reading about it, and actually doing it.

OP, if you know of Hayley Quinn (who I think is fantastic by the way) then you must have seen the video called No More Excuses! Just Approach Her!

Do both of those things.

Another great one that really fits your situation is the one called 'Hayley teaches You How You Can Say Hello To A Woman for The First Time | Martin 2.0'

If you don't want to do it alone then go with someone, but set a target. Try speaking to three women in one day. That's easy, right? Come on!

Believe me, I already do! It's what comes after where I fail so miserably. Recently I managed to get a pickup at a laundromat and the gym. But I depend very much on the right situation in which to do it. I could easily walk up to some girl at the mall and talk, but taking it from there is a challenge as I fall flat. LIke I had in another post, my brain is too slow to be quick witted enough to figure out what to say or do in time - it's always after the fact that I think of the brilliant solution! (I guess it's attributed to stress?)
