Where do most Marriages fall in Love Spectrum

Recommended Posts

So where do you think most Marriages (besides ones that end in divorce) fall in this spectrum:

  1. I married the love of my life, my soul mate, he/she is the most beautiful person (outside & inside) that I could have dream of. I would rate my spouse as a perfect 10.
  2. I think I married the love of my life but who knows what that is. We are not perfect by any means but we are best friends and make a good partnership. I am still physically attracted to him/her. Sure there could have been better options but we have a comfortable and strong marriage and I have no doubts I made the right decision.
  3. I wonder if I married my dream girl/guy. I guess I was attracted to her/him based on my dating history, options at the time but that has diminished over the years. Marriage is decent, comfortable but we fight fairly often. Our sex life is satisfactory. I don't think I would ever have an affair or want a divorce.
  4. I have serious doubts & regrets 10+ years later. I don't want a divorce now b/c of X,Y or Z but who knows in the future. I guess I am stuck for now. I may explore affairs.
  5. We are essentially separate and lead separate lives. Might as well be divorced but can't for x,y,z reasons.

My marriage is a combination of 1 and 2 with several phrases left out: (I don't believe in rating people on a scale of 1-10 or anything like that.)

Had to custom-fit that there. :)
