JustGettingBy Posted January 22, 2016 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Since this was an incident with a cashier, its not something I can pursue, its more of a 'so I know for next time' type of thing. I was buying something earlier today, and when I was paying, the cashier's behaviour seemed flirty,but I couldn't tell if it was just her being friendly, or if she's just being friendly, or merely acts that way normally. Here's what she said and did. Parts in italics were said in emphasis during the conversation. -There was no cashier at the cash out to greet me immediately, she looked over, saw me there, interrupted what she was doing and power walked towards me. -When I needed to sign the store's the receipt: her: You need to give me your autograph (I'm not famous) me: I'm that famous, hu? (I was simply playing along at this point) her: You are, yes -When I paid with a gift card, and she was updating how much was left on it after the purchase her: So you have *old amount* on it? me: Yes, that's up to date her: Alright, let me update it to show you still have *amount after purchase* left so you can come back here again -Later her: Here's your copy of the receipt. That one with your autograph is for me at this point, she gave me my copy of the receipt me: Thanks. Here you go I gave her the store's copy (signed) her: *looks at it* Thank you. Come back again. As far as you can tell, was this flirty, her being friendly as it is part of her job, is she one of those women who are naturally like this? Link to post Share on other sites

Plus she could work on commission, in which case being nice is her way of getting you to come back, buy more stuff, and make more money for herself. All that being said, she could think you're cute too. This happened to me once, I thought a sales associate was being a little too nice when I was trying on some jeans. Granted there wasn't anyone else in the store, but she was paying me a lot of attention for 30+ minutes. So I just asked her out and she obliged. I didn't know if it was some big ploy to get more commissions out of me but we laughed about it later. Link to post Share on other sites
