fleetwood79 Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 hi... i and people i know consider me an attractive and intelligent woman... i'm in my early 20s and i am also friendly but conservative, but how come when i meet guys they avoid my eye contact or start stuttering?? also i have an "unrequited" love with an old friend and he too is avoiding me even though i never talk to him anymore-- we used to see each other every day and now he is making a point to avoid me. i don't even make an effort to talk to him anymore..! (by the way, i used to avoid him because of something insensitive he did to me, and perhaps he is doing the same thing to me to let me know "how he felt" & give me the same treatment maybe). my friend said it is because he is dating another girl, and seeing me would just tempt him to talk to me again -- especially since he used to always comment on how pretty i was and his sexual attraction to me. what do you think about this whole thing? when someone avoids you, is it because they really don't want to have anything to do with you anymore (even though THEY are the ones who see you but both of you don't communicate anymore), or is it because it hurts them to see you and to know that you aren't talking to them anymore? thanks in advance for any thoughts, insight, etc...
