mscheeky
I married my Yemini husbad almost 4 years ago. He got his permanent leave to remain inthe UK 3 weeks ago. He told me yesterday he intended to have children and had found a woman in Yemen he wants to bring over to start a family. He filed for divorce today. I am devastated. How can one human break the heart of another for a visa. What can I do to delay the divorce as long as possible. Yes I told him to get out he is in a bedst but is on a very low income and lives in one room bedsit. She is in for a big shock.
kidm
can you not contact immigration officials and let them know he perpetrated a fraud on you? I'm sure his status can be revoked.

Satu
Police say its an immigration matter and immigration say it is a police matter You're not talking loudly enough, or being sufficiently insistent. They can only dismiss you if you let them.
Alamo657
As long as the guy doesn't steal welfare money, nothing will happen to him.
kidm
Who did you tell? The immigration officer who approved his case or did you just speak to someone on a customer service line? You actually want to set up an appointment and speak with an immigration officer. His status is a derivative status (i.e. he got it through you so you had to have been his "sponsor"). In the U.S., if the sponsor withdraws their support or sounds the horn on any type of legitimate fraud, the immigrant's status is compromised. I doubt the UK is any different.

Interesting that they would overlook fraud irrespective of his length of stay! Well sounds like all you can do now is to leave it to karma (if it exists).
burningashes
A couple of things: getting a visa isn't easy, and is expensive. When you factor in divorce, it gets more expensive. Don't know how it works exactly where you live - but getting a divorce can revoke your status if you aren't a permanent resident yet. Even if he got remarried and tries to bring someone to a country he isn't from, is sure to raise red flags with immigration services when he applies for visas again. You will be listed as his ex wife and immigration services will contact you for reference or background check ups. There are many methods they use to detect fraud, and I'm sure they've become stricter in the wake of immigration issues in Europe now. Don't worry too much about this, focus on whether you want the divorce or not, then plan accordingly what is best for you.
