Complaining about sexual comments on a sexual picture

Okay, I kind of got a kick out of this contradictory profile. Apparently, one of this woman's pictures is her laying down at the beach...she's taking a picture from HER perspective, aiming it at her body (not at the horizon), and you get an eye full of juggs all the way down to her toes.

The beginning of her profile states, "I'm a true southern girl, I was raised a lady...I don't like being asked for MORE bathing suit pics as this one is just to show off what my full body physique so as to not 'fool' anyone."

"Obsessively talking about my body is a HUGE turn off for me, please use self control and be a gentlemen!

Then follows it with a short sentence, "So who wants to go to a movie?"

She says NOTHING about herself in her profile..no bio, no "What kind of man I'm looking for", nothing..that's the ONLY thing it says in the "about me" section. lol So the only thing you have to go off of is her pictures. lol

Just a soap box speech about her first person perspective bikini body.

She has a few other regular photos of herself, clothed...and you can figure out what her figure looks like anyhow. But I'm wondering if she's attempting to bait guys with that picture and then get her jollies off of berating them for using inneundo?

Self-sabotage is very common on OLD. You just gotta laugh at some profiles, they are so obviously shooting themselves in the foot.

She is posting the picture because everyone will want to see what her body looks like.

She is also warning people not to be pervs now that she's shown it.

That makes perfect sense.

A bikini shot isn't sexual either. It's just honest (though not really because of the angle) ha ha

Clearly she has nothing to offer but a hot body, yet she doesn't want to be objectified over it. Irony...

Depends...if it's taken in the confines of someone's bedroom or bathroom in the mirror...it makes you think they put on the bikini, took the mirror selfie.

The aforementioned photo, I find it funny as her screen name makes her walk right into the innuendo. "AlabamaPeaches" (Not her full screen name by the way, just the basics). "Hey, I wouldn't mind getting a hold of those 'Georgia Peaches!"

But if the picture taken from that perspective where the boobs fill up half the photo...well, what do you expect, right?

Pretty much this. Sadly, and men are really to blame for this, but many attractive women don't bother cultivating anything other than their good looks. Skills, hobbies, personality, all those things kinda get forgotten. Can't blame a girl for that when one bikini pic is more than enough to get all the desperate dudes to chase after her.

Funny thing, I have seen some women take the bikini photos down a few days later. lol. I recall a woman taking a bathroom mirror selfie, in a bikini. The rest of her was she was clothed...but later that one picture was removed.

I am guess she was thinking, "I guess that wasn't such a good idea"

This seems to happen a LOT.

Women complain they don't want to be objectified but then post provocative pics of themselves and then get pissed when men make pervy comments or expect more than they're willing to give. Irony indeed.

They can't have it both ways.

Although I agree showing one's body shot is a good idea for OLD, showing oneself in a revealing bikini pic, especially from POV is a bit much. You can get the same message across without showing so much skin or cleavage after all.

Sadly, no one reads bios on OLD (especially men) so her disclaimer was really an act in futility.

Poor girl :(

Michelle MA Belle,

I have a question...what about pictures where a woman, rather classy...I guess. Has about 3 pics of her in bikini's at a resort?

They are more "posed" photos though, nice bathing suits. She almost looked like a Venus Swimwear model. But she was an RN (nurse).

One pic of her at a pool grotto and other similar, professionally done bikini photos. Kind of like the ones you see in magazines.

Another pic of her running a marathon. And a few others of her dressed in a big hat, sunglasses, mimosa in hand at some kind of high-end restaurant.

Then there is the nightclub attire, out with her friends ...raising their glasses tot he camera?

Thoughts on those?

I don't have issue with men or women posting a variety of pics in all states of dress and in various social settings. BUT I do have an issue when women post too much skin AND THEN expect men to NOT make comments that may not be appropriate.

If the woman in your scenario didn't make any kind of disclaimer in her profile regarding how men should approach her pictures then Amen to her!

Again, you can't have it both ways.

Well to be fair to the lady, there is an awful lot of chatter about how a woman MUST show her whole body so men don't get "ripped off" by meeting a chubby girl. Why she didn't have anything about herself in her profile, though, that's a different story.

If she wants a load of desperate dudes chasing after her, then yeah, mission accomplished.

If she wants to meet a decent guy for a genuine relationship then she's doing it all wrong. Decent guys will be totally put off by this kind of silly profile. All that's left will be the desperate dudes who won't even read the bio and will just message her based on the pic, and it will probably be a sexual message.

Sadly, no one reads bios on OLD (especially men) so her disclaimer was really an act in futility.

Disagree. The spammers and ONS-seekers don't read them but the guys genuinely looking for a real relationship (ie. most women's target audience) do read them, because they are looking for a good match in terms of personality, interests and values, not just body.

She is putting up a "hot" pic to draw in as many viewers, then trying to put off the idiots with the bio. But in fact she's throwing the baby out with the bath water. She is putting off all the decent guys, and all that's left is the idiots.

Agreed. I'm not knocking the idea of posting a body pic but that doesn't mean you have to show yourself in a bikini either. Like I said, you can get across the same message without showing skin.

If a woman loves the attention of showing her assets than God bless her! Flaunt it if you've got it for heaven's sake...just don't chastise men for taking it too far AND not filling in your profile to boot.

Seems pretty simple to me.

One of the best dating tips I give women is that men will buy whatever they're selling.

Yes, good tip. It goes for guys as well.

...Yeah. I guess if you're going to post a bathing suit shot you should expect sexual comments. She probably would have been better off saying "Witty sexualized comments welcome but only the really clever ones will get a response."

At least she'd have something interesting to read.

TBH it's never in a woman's best interest to post a bathing suit shot. Nothing productive will come of it. Take a picture in a tight black dress. It's sexy enough.

What is the mindset of a man who sends vile messages to a woman with a bikini picture? Esp when she has a message asking for no vile messages?

What is the purpose? what is the reward?

See I am of mixed feelings here.

On the one hand, this woman's dating profile is unlikely to get what she probably wants--well-written first emails from intelligent attractive men. (Not so much because she included the bikini photo but because she didn't attempt to give any sort of "hook" besides her looks.) It doesn't seem to me that she thought this through at all. So there I do agree with PegNosedPete, Michelle, Summer3, and enigma that a full-body shot fully clothed is plenty.

On the other hand, nothing "justifies" sending someone vile messages. I agree w xxoo in that I'm not seeing the logic on why sending someone lewd messages suddenly DOES become OK just because they showed a lot of skin. An overly sexual message from a male stranger to a woman is a lot like a female stranger seeing a picture of a nice car or house in our profiles and saying how they'd love it if we'd take them on a shopping date. It's just not at all flattering.

Poor girl :(

I've read the bio of every girl I was interested in while using OLD.

It's actually the biggest factor in whether or not I decide to contact her.

Just saying :)

You don't think dudes are out there sending "vile" messages for nothing, do you? The guys sending those messages are doing it because it has worked for them. Women who post obvious attention grabbing photos, saying they don't want the attention, they are perfect targets. It's just like the women who put on their profiles that they aren't looking for a hook up. For the most part, they are saying that because they are the type that hooks up with people online.

I have no idea why they send out vile messages. Vile doesn't sound desirable.

I do think that any woman who puts a bikini picture online obviously wants attention, but why opt for negative attention (vile) over positive attention (compliments, interest, flirting).

I suspect that, in many cases, the vile messages are just an attempt to attack and knock her down.

Yep, exactly, me too.

The good guys read the bios and send sensible, respectful messages. The bad guys don't.

My usual openers aren't vile, but more...suggestive. Like, "Woah, I got an eyeful !" or something along those lines instead of "I'd like to, ...<then proceed to say the vile>

Sometimes I'd see these women who get this upclose V-neck, cleavage shots...pretty much pushing up their breasts beyond the V-necks' breaking point...and you can see some of their face...it's as if they are attempting to squeeze in their face and boobs even closer together for the head shot. lol

I put bikini pictures online. It wasn't one of my better ideas but I did it for a while. I wanted attention but not sleazy attention. I wanted nice attention. I got everything from really nice positive attention to haters screaming at me. It was weird.

This is interesting. A local woman on POF who has been on the site for a long time, had 4 pictures up. They were all pretty conservative. Mostly work attire, nicely dressed...I think she worked in real estate.

3 of them were head & shoulder shots. One of them was a full body picture, of her sitting, legs nicely crossed, very pretty smile...rather attractive for a woman in her 50's living in this town...usually women over 50...around here let their bodies go to he**...anyhow, she was very curvy...thick build. Kind of a Jane Mansfield type (from the old movies)

You could tell from THAT picture she was VERY well endowed. (I think they may have been augmented, don't know for sure) She indeed had a nice, hourglass figure. Proportionately filled out.

Recently, she took that photo down...and I THINK I know it was due to her well endowed topside part that may have gotten the attention she didn't want...and it wasn't even a bikini picture.
