GOSSMAN Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Hi my girlfriend decided she wanted a break from our relationship 1 week ago and today is my b'day. She just messaged me then to say happy b'day, and i don't know if i should reply. I really love her and would love to have her back but I don't know what she wants, should I just stay in NC with her?
BrotherAaron Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 I'd say keep the NC. For breakups, I prescribe casual dating. It worked for me.

Don't answer. I also suggest telling her the relationship is over. You have to demand respect from her or she'll never respect you. You can't get respect by letting her walk all over you and always being available no matter what she does. If its meant to be she will beg to have you back after you issue NC and break it off with her completely. It will send her a message that you won't put up with that crap.
Fallen_Angel Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Happy Birthday, fellow Gemini! I think you should give your ex some space so she can figure out what her deal is. It's painful, but it's the right thing to do. The only thing more painful than not contacting her is staying in contact with her.
miss-gonewest Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 She is probably just being nice, and doing the right thing... In case you are reading too much into it, I'd not reply and see if she follows up with a phone call or further messages... Let her come to you.
