I only ask cause my family is in the process of it and whatever money we do have has to go to bills that we must play like rent, heat and food. What pisses me off i'm working and my dad who's 68 is also working. What annoys me my spoiled brother is not asking to work instead he sits home smoking all day waiting for my dad's pay at the end of every week to grab it from him. Then when he doesn't get what he wants he tells my dad don't make me sign up in the army so my dad breaks down and keeps on giving

Times are tough now for a lot of people. I hear ya when you say all of your money goes to bills. If your brother is of working age he should grow up and be a man and help out. Maybe he does not understand the extent of the money issues, or the values and responsibilities of a job.

Good Luck

I agree--there are tons of folks living pay to pay--or less. What I am finding is that several years ago, tmies were a lot better for me--the business was doing a lot better and so forth. I admit thatmy kids really wanted for nothing. If they needed new clothes, we went to the mall and got some. We took several trips for vacations each year to some very cool places. Sneakers, no problem with the $80 sneaks.

Now it is different and I need to watch the money VERY carefully, but they don't get it. Granted they are young 13, 11, 8 but, it is frustrating to me that I cannot give them what they want and on the other hand it frustrates the hell out of me that they keep asking for thinkgs that I think they ought to realize is not an option right now. Like the wireless hook up for Xbox.

I don't talk detailed finances wiht them , but they know biz is down and things have changed, but sometimes...grrr

OK Rant over

Tell me about it. I remember a few years back we would always go to New York to visit my uncle and family, but now that thought can't even cross our minds. Oh well, what can you do?

How old are you and your brother? If you're both over 18, there is no reason why your parents should be supporting you. I realize you are helping out, but imagine if you had to live on your own....how much would that cost you? Well, that's probably how much it's costing your parents to put a roof over your head.

Well I'm 18 and live with a friend, but I still send some of my paycheck to help my family out. My brother is 22 and, like I said, sleeps all day and isn't told to find a job.
