Do you get offended when people cuss at work???

Do you get terribly offended when people cuss in the office?

I have a mouth like a truck driver and I have really tried hard to ease up on my vulgarity but sometimes things just deserve the F bomb and stuff. I feel bad though because the guy I work with doesnt swear at all and if he is annoyed he will spell out the word ass - and its annoying how he does it too... he says A double S. GROW UP AND SAY IT... but then I started wondering if I am just offensive or what others think about curse words being spouted in the office.

Just wondering really.

I also swear a lot but I think it can be offensive to many people so I really make myself not talk like that while at work. Specially since I work at a law firm :p

It doesn't offend me, but I do believe it causes one to automatically form an opinion of your intelligence level. (drops).

No it doesn't offend me when or if people swear.

The only time I ever look at people like "Oh no you didn't!" is IF one of my Little People are present and someone keeps using the word F'ck.

It doesn't offend me, but I refrain from swearing at work because it reflects poorly on the company and on myself. I let loose with some choice phrases and words at home though!

I would not want a client to hear anyone swearing when they come into the office, or a vendor either for that matter.

I've noticed that people who swear a lot are treated somewhat differently by the higher-ups in the corporate world. You see very few CEO's cussing at work in front of regular staff. They may let loose when with people they have known for a long time, but not out in the open.

awwww so cute.

I said A-hole the other day (road rage) with my kids in the van OOOOPS My daughter (8) took a fit. Of course I had to tell them about the baby in the fokkers....another one of those "Don't tell your friends though"!

I don't swear at work unless I'm really pissed and it's a one-on-one and we're both pissed at something. We have a guy in our office though, who can be vulgar and swears quite a bit but mostly during breaks when we're all around the lunch table, and we have a few prissies who get offended and made sure he had a talking to. Whatever! Not like it's on company time, but we have been told to lower our voices in case guests enter the building during that time - they might hear us.

I laugh when he swears cuz I get a kick out of the prissy faces.

I swear a lot, but I try to tone it down at work, and don't use the F word. I don't care if my coworkers swear, with one or two exceptions. For example, a few months ago a coworker had just gotten done with a call from a client. He put down the phone and called her a c**t. I, personally, don't care about that word, and it doesn't offend me, but we had two new female coworkers, and they were so shy that I knew they wouldn't have stood up for themselves, and felt that the situation might have made them feel threatened. So I, being the senior person, busted his ass. :p

The other exception is when coworkers are swearing and other coworkers are on the phone with clients not 10 feet from them. Go ahead and swear, but let's not make ourselves look bad, huh?
