OneLov
If you have a few minutes, check out this scene from Louis C.K.'s show on FX. It's an interesting conversation and perspective on the very issue this thread is trying to address. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KFdWcNJ17YY "You know what the meanest thing you can say to a fat girl? You're not fat." Awesome clip that's worth anyone's time.
hasaquestion
It's totally fine to say, "Hey, I like women like this. Guys, who else likes women like this? High five! We like women like this!" It's odd to say, "I like women like this so women should feel better about themselves"...esp when the photo is very stereotypically sexy and airbrushed. Its like those Aerie ads with "real women" in them that are all over their stores. "Look, at this picture of an utterly gorgeous model with NO AIRBRUSHING! She even has a mole! Ladies! Feel empowered!"
TheArtist
Its like those Aerie ads with "real women" in them that are all over their stores. "Look, at this picture of an utterly gorgeous model with NO AIRBRUSHING! She even has a mole! Ladies! Feel empowered!" Yes, we have that in the UK too, but ours is for Dove skincare products, which I assume is the same company. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B1NrqEICUAAHgR-.png It does seem a bit of a mixed message to me, that you should be happy in your body, which is fine, but also that you don't need to try to improve it because you should like it how it is. I don't get that idea. When I was approaching 30 people were telling me that when I hit that milestone my belt will start to disappear under my waistline and I should just accept it, but seven years on I have a better body now than I ever did before because I was determined not to let that happen. Surely that's a healthier attitude?

Emilia
Well, I do think the OP meant well. I am going to guess that he was trying to say "women, stop obsessing about your weight--I for one find women w curvier builds to be really attractive" and he was expecting women to be reassured by that. I think a reason why this thread didn't go as the OP planned is that the photo is airbrushed and the model has her own set of special genes (so with her smoothed out skin in the photo and her "perfect" curves, she doesn't really look like "most women" either). Also, many women would rather a man they don't know not dissect their bodies period. It's just patronising. Another man posting photo of scantily clad woman who caters for a particular fantasy of huge curves and tiny waist. Might as well post a cartoon of an overdeveloped batgirl or catwoman. Same thing, just another fantasy mascarading as concern.
Tayla
Late to response. Yes I think this lady is stunning. thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
Author Phoenician
So this thread made some people upset because of what ? because I see this women as a gorgeous lady and wanted to validate my opinion . some considered it as a promotion to accept our bodies as they are , become lazy . some considered that the picture was a nude picture edited with Photoshop 3.1.2.3.4 some considered it as personnel insult , others considered it as an absurd attack from Mars where the author should be stoned to death . few open minded people were very close to truth which is : One day any of us could be sick ,overweight ,having ugly appearance due to a trauma , etc .... you are left with one basic fact : -You are Fat ,or ugly, or have embarrasing look , etc ... you can be just fat , or fat and Gorgeous ; not necesarly by wearing sexy lingerie ,it is by many other factor , starting by confidence; look at the same picture , and just imagine how ugly she can be if she just looked down , wearing same cloth without any pride . this thread targeted women more because they are the symbol of beauty ;this the way God created women , a beautiful creature . so ask yourself a question ; if you become fat or overweight , can i still be beautiful ? yes , you can , as long as you are mature , confident and you have a beautiful heart ; start by looking at yourself admit your deficiency , you will look gorgeous in front of ppl like me , as well as positive thing ppl who replied reasonably in this thread . that's my 2 cents .... Kamille
So on the day I end up ugly, can I be ugly and gorgeous? Since your point is that fat can be beautiful, why are you associating these following traits together? You are Fat ,or ugly, or have embarrasing look , etc ... (...) start by looking at yourself admit your deficiency
Author Phoenician
So on the day I end up ugly, can I be ugly and gorgeous? Since your point is that fat can be beautiful, why are you associating these following traits together? yes you can , have you seen a face smashed due to an accident yet the person is till beautifull ? as long as you have the good spirit and confidence , you will be gorgeous in some ppl eyes. my neighbor is 65 yrs old with a face full of scars , yet i see her the most beautiful lady in the building , the way she makes her hair , the way she walks the way she dresses. xxoo
yes you can , have you seen a face smashed due to an accident yet the person is till beautifull ? as long as you have the good spirit and confidence , you will be gorgeous in some ppl eyes. my neighbor is 65 yrs old with a face full of scars , yet i see her the most beautiful lady in the building , the way she makes her her , the way she walks the way she dresses. But why are you suggesting they are ugly at all? Women don't need to be evaluated and judged on appearance at all times.
Emilia
It's that you are objectifying women the way everyone else does. You are saying they can be beautiful no matter what, yet you are discussing looks! How about NOT talking about looks but positive attributes instead? It's like me saying how much I hate racism only to end up focusing on posting about skin pigmentation. How different features are beautiful and how I'm not racist but keep going on about it. Incidentally, the irony is that men tend to hate it when other men are disected and discussed in front of them. I've seen this so many times in pubs, etc. They even voice their discomfort when you show them how it feels, hilarious! You could always just STOP

You are, however, disecting women. Just because it's disguised by calling all of them beautiful, it is still objectifying I'd still love to know how a sexualised photo is showing inner beauty
Author Phoenician
not all of them are beautiful, only those who have the charm ... Negative thinking is not a charm ,nor beauty . And what makes the lady in pic stunning is not just her body , it is her charm and confidence , which yes i like to see in any women. Again , imagine the lady in same context with only one difference , she is sad , angry , looking down at the floor , or raging like a B. Ugg.
TheArtist
I think that what we're looking at here is two completely different things. There is physical attractiveness and there is mental attractiveness, if that's not too clumsy a definition. Some people are fantastic at conversation and are really great to get along with, but may not have the best body, whereas others can look great but are actually really nasty inside. While this woman clearly shows confidence she might be a truly horrible person if you met her. I would also expect her to enjoy getting compliments about her size otherwise she wouldn't be posing for these photos, which kind of says that it's OK to be large as long as you're confident. Which it is, but ideally you should improve if you can. If you want to. I think.

sandylee1
She's a nice looking curvy woman. I don't see what the debate is about really. She looks good and healthy and isn't a size zero.
GunslingerRoland
Sexy girl, but there is a lot of irony in this thread like others have pointed out as it's a very superficial photo. But curvy girls rock!
hestheone66
just to clarify : She is so attractive ! The picture speaks of it self , Such type rocks my world ! http://www.loveshack.org/forums/memb...062-confident/ I wish majority of ladies agree , because all around me here are so obssessed about their weight . look , etc ... Men, how many of you are attracted to this type rather tha a fictious doll? by "all around me here" i meant in my place / my workplace .... I'm not a man but I agree 100%. I am a woman that is quite plump but confident. I don't try and hide my shape. I know men feel attracted to me and it's because I'm happy with myself which is infectious. It also makes things less awkward. If a lover wants to caress my folds u don't recoil and enjoy being touched and appreciated. I think men also like women who are confident in their bodies as they will be open to express themselves without shame. I used to feel 'not attractive enough' until I met someone who asked me if I'd ever been bigger. I said that I'd lost about 15 KGS. He said he wished he'd seen me heavier. That totally changed my self perception
Madame_Noire
I bet many don't dare to wear like her , even in front of their partners ; they enjoy putting an old pijama I have a lacey number just like that the lady in the picture is wearing. I love it and feel very sexy in it, my man loves it and is shows my curves. I wish I had more than one. I am curvy, but medically I am classed as obese. I think they should abolish the BMI chart (in the uk) because I weight train. So muscle is going to be heavier! I work out every other day and eat a very low fat diet. Practically vegetarian. All I am concerned about is keeping internally healthy and it is a bonus if I look good aesthetically too.
