kolleamm
Why is it that when I was in high school I could attract more attractive women? Now it's impossible to find anyone who is not over weight etc... I still look the same practically though and work out all the time.
xxoo
You equate "better" with thinness? People choose partners largely based on looks when young, and look more at deeper qualities as we mature. How are you doing in development other than looks?
mrldii
Because while in High School, the fences surrounding the institution made it so the *females* couldn't get out and mingle with all the available men. Now, there's more competition to choose from, what with the females of the species being allowed to free-range for the rest of their natural lives. Best of luck to you, OP.

Empire87
If you're one of the guys who thinks the best times ever were in high school then that's probably part of the answer. You don't say how old you are now but there are classic examples of the "cool/popular/attractive guy from high school" never growing up and still thinking/acting like he's a big deal even though he's done nothing with himself since. Looking like you did in high school isn't necessarily a good thing. People wore Aeropostale and popped collars in high school. If you're still "that guy" then maybe evolve a bit. HS is also a smaller pond than college/post college. In HS everyone knows who the good looking girls are and where they hang out/who they hang out with. After HS you have to do a little work to find the gems. They don't know who you are just because you go to the same school or are at the same bar. You're nobody to a stranger. Plus you might be the kind of guy who settles for the girl who is the easy "yes" Rather than spending a little more time and effort into winning over the better looking girl that requires more.

I don't know how old you are but the two obvious answers. #1) Most high school girls are in shape even if they eat like crap and don't exercise. It catches up with them fast past 20 and especially fast 30 (same for men). #2) Most of the most eligible girls will end up a good relationship earlier and get married.

lino
If you're beyond late 20s, most women who are attractive and not crazy in some way will be well into a long term relationship close to marriage or already married. Mid 30s and beyond the number becomes microscopic and most women will also come packaged with some other guys kid(s). The window to find quality isn't that big.

Author kolleamm
I'm honestly done dating anyone lol Its a complete headache , when im feeling lonely I just talk to my guy friends and that pretty solves it even though I'm straight. I'm a big workaholic and have felt some of the greatest feelings in my life not in love but in accomplishing my research in my electronics field. I'm 23 and a virgin and I could care less if I stay that way forever. I'm pretty happy with everything now even though before I was super depressed. So for all the lonely people out there find what you love to do and do it. It doesn't matter if your single what matters is you loving yourself.

Phoenician
Your defininition of "better women " is a thinner , more beautiful , etc ...I don't like the definition , because one day you will be old , fat , disgusting ; then would you give your lady to go to another jerk ? When you get mature , you will recognize that Beauty from outside alone is a curse ; it has to be associated with charm ,givology and commitment . Best

Better advice would be to develop interests beyond your work so you can hold a conversation with people. I presume that's the main issue.
normal person
Why is it that when I was in high school I could attract more attractive women? Now it's impossible to find anyone who is not over weight etc... I still look the same practically though and work out all the time. Dating becomes more of a meritocracy as you get older. In high school and college, girls will often want to go out with you if you look good, regardless of intellect or other shortcomings. Take the same girl 10-15 years later and she probably can't be bothered with a good looking guy if he doesn't have a decent paying job. There are millions of women out there who are successful, attractive, and not overweight. If you think the women you attracted were "better" when you were younger, maybe it has more to do with you than it does with them. What have you done besides work out?
