Lindylax821
My girlfriend and I go to different colleges. About 2 hours away. And we both play sports. Ever since I got to school I've been in a depressed state if I'm not in class or at practice. I've never been good at LDR's but I'm not sure what to do about this. I want to believe that I can get through it but idk how much longer I can put up with the stress and the depression. We've always said that we'd be bestfriends if it didn't work out. And I feel like when we talk about that I'm much happier than I am when we are like relationship talk. Even when we see each other I have no sexual drive to hook up. Because I'm just too sad. ExpatInItaly
Sorry to hear you're struggling, OP. I would advise you to talk to a counselor on campus. It sounds as though you could use a supportive but neutral third party to talk to, and figure out what's at the source of your depressed mood. Please let your girlfriend know how you're feeling, if you haven't already. I am sure she's noticed a change in you, and may want to help. I have dated a depressed man before, and believe me when I say that the worst feeling (as the partner) is not knowing what's going on or if it's something we've done to drive you away. It's very hard not to take it personally, so keep the lines of communication open with her.
