Stinky, my boss, has just gone crazy. She lied to the office manager and said I took a 2 hour lunch and a 90 minute last week and wants to dock my time. Whatever, bitch. Dock my time. I hate your guts and I'll see you in hell. I have never taken longer than 15 minutes extra because I couldn't find parking. Yet another installment of "I work in hell". What do you do with a boss that dislikes you so much she starts making sh*t up randomly? Why doesn't she just fire me already?? Link to post Share on other sites

The reason for not being fired is probabaly because she knows she been using underhanded tactics and may fear a wrongful dismisal suit. Link to post Share on other sites
Pocky Posted June 16, 2005 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Are you sure you're paid hourly as a non-exempt (exempt from earning overtime) in your position? Most positions at our university at your level are all salaried and exempt from overtime gains, which also means exempt from having their paychecks affected when they don't work exactly eight hours in one day. She refuses to take me off probation, I swear. Once my probation is up she will probably extend it another 3 months just to f*** me up the ass with a mason jar. Because I can't transfer to another position here until my probation is up and if I quit/get fired on probation here I can't work at the university in any department. I am no longer even pissed off about this job. I just don't care and I do sh*tty work. I can't win anyways. Everything I do is picked apart and I never do anything right, ever, so I have stopped caring. I just sit here and make my eight every day to get my paycheck. Link to post Share on other sites

I would think it's probation for three months if you don't improve you're fired and if you do you're off probation. I've never heard of being on probation for almost a year! I'm studying for my GRE right now, I'm bailing on these mo fos and going back to get my Master's in public health administration. They can blow me. As soon as I take my exam I'm quitting. I'm just here to make money. HR knows I'm still on probation. HR knows that my boss "forgot" to sign me up for new employee orientation when I first got here and I missed open enrollment for health insurance and got screwed out of getting that. HR knows that she went crazy and grabbed my arm while screaming in my face because I asked her a question. HR is sitting on their butts. Life's a bitch, ain't it? Well no one ever said life would be fair. I'm glad I had this horrible job shove that fact in my face so many times, I feel like I fell into a pile of sh*t and instead of helping me out of the sh*t HR stood on top of my head trying to suffocate me. She def trying to make your life a living hell. Just smile and act like it doens't bother you. Get under her skin. I'd tell the company that you've spoken with a lawyer and that he/she advised you that you had a good case for harassment against your boss and the university for their lack of assistance with this problem. I'd show them (but not let them take it or make copies) a list of every instance where you were mistreated as an employee - that includes being denied opportunities that are afforded to other employees. But I just get more and more sickeningly sweet with Stinky, the worse she treats me. I have given up trying to get fair treatment. So they can pay me to study for the GRE. If they don't like you, let them fire you. This way you see, you can collect unemployment...which can carry for 6 mo. till a new job oppt comes along. in the meantime, send out resumes like crazy!
