WishfulCat
I have known this man for 3 years, we have been dating for over 2, and we have met in person 5 times. He is in the UK and I am in the US. We talk daily without fail on Skype (with video and voice) and even stay in calls when we sleep. I know that may sound a bit much but it helps both of us cope with the distance. He wants to move to the US to close the distance but the problem we are running into is finding him a job. I has no idea it was so hard to find someone to sponsor him. I have brought myself to tears searching for HOURS online and either getting back firm NOs or no responses at all. Things are same on his end. We do want to marry and have considered doing it that way, me filing the fiance visa and then filing for a green card but he cant be here without work, specially if we don't know the green card is a sure deal. I honestly don't know what to do. He doesn't have any degrees but he can show and prove he is very knowledgeable with computers. He works as a Systems Admin for a worldwide company. He looked into getting a transfer through them but they said they only do this for management positions. Has anyone every been here? Like stuck without knowing what to do? I know I am new here, I just need someone to talk to that has experience with this. We both don't know what to do. Neither one of us can afford to speak to a lawyer about this either. Everything I find online pertaining to visa work just gives me less and less hope we will ever close the distance. Does anyone have experience with finding work in the US? Are there any other options for us as far as getting him here?
clia
It seems unlikely he will find an employer to bring him over, so your option is to bring him over yourself via fiancé visa or marriage. With the fiancé visa, you get married within 90 days of his arrival, and then file to adjust status and for work authorization. The work authorization typically takes about 90 days. Is there any way you two can save enough money to live on one salary (I'm assuming you work) for around six months? (In addition to all the fees, which can be quite costly.) Another option is via marriage directly. Meet up somewhere, get married, and then have him return to the UK and you return to the US and file all the paperwork. He only comes to the US once the paperwork is done. That way he can start working immediately when he arrives in the US. I have no idea how long this process takes. Is it an option for you to move to the UK?
AlexDream
Why don't you move to the UK for a while? You can marry him there and than apply for a green card. I cannot see any problems here at all.
